I walked out from the park and drilled holes in 32 feet of water. We measured 14''. I did not drill holes anywhere else though so I do not know if that is consistant elsewhere. I did not see any cars or trucks out and I don't know the river well enough to risk being the first person driving out there

[PoorWordUsage] I wouldn't recommend it. You could hear the ice rumble right at your feet and see the water go up and down through your ice hole as they drove by.

I measured a solid 13" yesterday afternoon out from Anderson bay in 34' of water.

There were full size trucks out there driving around.

One red truck went back & forth across the river to the Wis. side access...

I would wait a while longer before driving....These people are not thinking right, NYE we measured 10"- Let the cold nights and days set in for a while longer. Plus it is easy to travel out there right now without any snow!!!!!!

fished 3 different areas today and measured 17" in all 3 spots. ice is really coming along nice but still use caution. tried to drive out of ferry landing this morning and instead of driving to the north of the sign i drove straight out. was just going to drive out a few feet and walk from there and thats when the front end of the truck went through. tried to get out but she just sank more. thankfully there was a very nice man in an f350 that pulled me out, tried to give him some$$$ but wouldnt take it. he just said he opened a new bait shop by the liquor store in north hudson and to just come by and buy some bait from him. so anyone in wis. land thats looking for bait you have a new place to go and if you do give him another thanks for me.

That will make your heart stop for a sec huh? Did that a few years back on a lake when all 4 tires broke through and left me sitting on the frame. Those dang slush pockets get everyone at sometime or another. I heard about the new bait shop, I'll have to stop in and check it out and give a look!

newbie havent seen you out yet!!! been fishing bass lake or what??

No not yet, gotta beable to drive where I need to get to on bass lake and the river for that matter, and no wheeler or sled makes it tough for early ice. Pannies have been treating me fairly well on the walkable spots on other lakes. Man I'm itchin' to get out there on that river though! Maybe this weekend if the ice report sounds safe. Got a few spots scoped out on the gps I want to give some tries.
