Just curious what lures everyone has good luck for walleyes on Winnie? Thank you

The best baits for my group this year on Winnie have been Northland Tackle's "Buck-Shot Rattle Spoon" (1/8 oz Super-Glo Perch) jigged with a minnow head and "Forage Minnow Jig" (Glo Redfish) for your other rod, using a bobber, tipped with a lively minnow.

Super glo chub buckshot rattle spoon has been the best for me on Winnie the past few years.

I always do good on Winni with a Perch colored buckshot or Lindy Flyer. I like the smaller 1/8th oz. Another thing that has worked good is the same spoons with a mono dropper used as a dead stick.

I like using the smaller 1/16 oz Buckshot Rattle Spoons by Northland....but the last time I was out there I had my boy try a Lindy Flyer with a rattle in it. It had a yellow glow back and the front looked like a little perch. He was schooling me. Ended up switching myself and we ended up with 11 keepers and a couple perch. That was Wednesday. I am guessing that after the snow we just got...it might be tough to get out there now. My 8 year old had a great time. Ended up letting about 6 go because of their size. The ones we kept were all over 14 inches. Nice fish

For jigging, I like a small gold Slender spoon w/ glow stripe or a small glow Lindy Darter.

For the bobber rod a chartruse bead and chartruse hook or red hook or a glow bead and glow hook.

This way you're giving the aggressive fish something as well as the neutral/negative fish.

Ya, it was last Wednesday. I was fishing a fairly long but slender hump. I put my brother in law in my favorite part of it...and I took a inside bend part that I have caught them in the summer months. We got there about 1 and left at 5. I moved once, but came back to that spot. It was a little deeper than I wanted (23 feet)but it worked. It was a good trip and I got the boy pretty interested in the graph. He could watch the fish and bam...they were on. Good time.

I have the best luck with a blue forage minnow. I like the lindy jigging spoons though too, for some reason I seem to catch way bigger fish with em.

Looks like a shallow lake with some potential.  Keepable crappies, decent bluegills and some nice perch according to the last survey (2015). Susan Lake   With a max depth of 10 feet, I’d want to know a little more about it before I’d start drilling holes.  Could be a nice little adventure though.

Jeff and I fished Saturday and half day Sunday, targeting whitefish, ciscos, crappies, and perch.  The bite was tough for us.  We ecked out a few, but nothing special.  Highlight of the weekend was the sled ride into Wolf Lake and having an eagle swoop in and eat a rock bass we had on the ice.  All in all, not a bad way to waste time.

Took another trip into the BWCAW last Friday to fish for lakers.  I waited until daylight to drive the snowmobile to the portage so I could safely cross the large pressure ridge in the middle of the lake.  There were 4 other parties already parked at the portage when I got there, plus 2 other parties came later in the day (one even after sunset).  Walking/towing on the lake was quite easy and I found a spot to fish with nobody close by.  Fished for over 10 hours until sunset and didn't catch a fish.  I did have 4 hits on jigs, including one I got up to the bottom of the hole before the snap swivel caught on the bottom of the hole and the fish shook off.  Enjoyed the sunset in the BWCAW before starting the trek out in dusk.  While leaving I saw 3 other people towing sleds just coming onto the lake, I assume to spend the night.  While snowmobiling in the dark back to the landing I got slightly lost but was able to correct my rout and make it out before running out of gas (was on empty).  Was very nice day in the BWCAW, but it is a tough trip when you don't even catch a fish.  May go back to Burntside this week for a much easier trip.

Anyone have any info on Susan Lake just north of Black Bay on Vermilion?  I'm curious if it's a panfish possibility while we wait for the opener.

Had a fish fry for my wife and the neighbor lady, so it’s time to get some more fish.

Hot out today to enjoy the weather and fish. The bite was crazy good. I kept 10 crappies and 8 gills. Gills were 7 3/16 to 8 1/8 inches crappies were from 9.5. 10.5 inches. Shallow water just below the ice. 3 mm pink and white with a white spug.
