They probably won't but I say stick all the charges they can on him.

It doesn't matter if it was in season or not.

Angling with out a license and targeting fish that is out of season is no different than what you are arguing.

You are going to get fined for angling with out a valid license, and you are also going to get nailed for targeting a species that is out of season.

Why should they only charge him with one and not the other?

Sure they seem to contradict each other but everyone on here should be perfectly happy with the fines and outcome taken against this guy. If you do not! what kind of conservationist does that make you?

Not a very good one in my opinion.

The amount of money you and me spend to hunt and fish goes towards conservation. Sure not all of it. but if you take into consideration all the people who are employed making things better and easier for you and me to go out and do something we all enjoy. Giving you public land to hunt, you a place to launch your boat, you a place to go for a hike. I can keep going but this all costs a lot of money to get, to maintain, and to keep open.

There are tons of law breakers out there. Not saying everyone can be stopped or everyone follows the rules either.

If you all are disagreeing with these charges that much, you should reconsider it.

If it wasn't for the DNR, for licensing fees and for people not getting caught, we wouldn't have most of the pleasure we do.

Respect the laws, and you won't have a problem. Break the law, except what you did, and take it like a man. Stop whining.

I hope they whack him with all the charges listed above. It be nice to know that some of that money is being used for the enjoyment of people who respect the DNR and Conservation and what we actually do have access to...

I'd have no problem if i knew that one hundred percent of that money when to conserving lands and educating kids and young adults about hunting but how much of that money actually stays in the county it was paid in and what is it actually used for?

You'll never know, just like where your taxes go from your paycheck.

Don't hunt, don't fish and don't use state parks. Than you have no worries where that money is going because it doesn't effect you. People who don't do those activities can complain all the want about what fines this guy is getting.

First off i don't want the government to accuse anyone of something thats not, if the charges contradict each other that means your being accused of something you didn't do, either it's one or the other.

Second if your idea of funding conservation is through fines, thats PUREINSANITY! join a sportsmans club and get involved or if your lucky enough to legally harvest a trophy buck and it makes a record book,

enter it, that money is a donation and goes directly towards conservation.

Third, i don't agree with what the guy did, but that deer quite possibly could have been wounded and he felt sorry for it. i don't see much difference between him, and the guy who's tagged out and takes a deer for every relative who dosen't hunt, or has to go to the local watering hole looking for someone to tag a deer.
