More crappies

Recommended Posts

Made back out to the lake again chasin' crappies with my son Craig. We fished from 10AM to 4PM and the fishin' was on fire all day. It took us a little while to find the schools but once we found a school of fish we were able to camp out on em for the rest of the day. The schools were holding tight together and they weren't moving much in 20 to 21 fow.

The fish were very aggressive most of the time and were hitting many of our different presentations. The hottest lure of the day was a red, white and blue Lindy Rattlin' Flyer (nick named Capt'n America) tipped with a minnow head and close second came on a pink and white ratso with a crappie minnow and Northlands Blood worm with out meat. Craig was experimenting with the Lindy Darter and caught 3 nice crappies. He was tipping the tail treble with a minnow head and hooking the fish on the belly trebles. We caught well over 60 crappies for the day and brought some home for supper.

What a fun day on the lake with my son. Good times, great memories.

Nice report. Looks like you guys got some quality family time, good fishin, and pics/memories that'll last a lifetime. Gotta love that. Can't wait til my 3 year old is big enough to experiment with his own baits and presentations.
