Buffalo/Deer/Goose Lake Catfish.

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any luck with them at any of the 3 lakes for catfish? Do they bite much during the winter, or more in the summer? Also, does the creek that connects Buffalo to Deer lake freeze solid enough to walk on most years? Is it walkable ice as of now?

I don't know about the catfish, but the Mill Creek channel is never safe to walk on. Most small streams around here have open water right now.

there is some cats in buffalo and deer but they are so spread out. if you want to catch cats during the ice season go up to horseshoe lake on the sauk river chain of lakes. up there there is a high population density so if you find a few there is likely more in the immediate area. they can get thick up there check out the st cloud forum on here for more info on horseshoe and the chain. also if it cats you want I would recommend that you check out the cool cats get together in march(info in the st cloud forum).
