Help! I have arrows and 2 bows...

Gillie

Question

Right before my dad died, he gave me his old bow and my (or my mother's) old bow. Also, his arrows. I know 6 arrows are from Herter's and my bow is, too. Probably my dad's as well. My grandfather made the wood box for the arrows. It's just plywood. There are 2 score pads and one thing I have no idea what it is used for! I'm going to add some photos which may help. I want to know 1. what kind of bows and arrows they are 2. Are they worth anything?

I might try to sell some of them. The others I am keeping to use.

Thanks so much for any help!full-35782-2679-dadarch31.jpg

Not sure what you are asking as the make and model are right there. It would considered a recurve and they both are Ben Pearson Golden Sovereign as the tags say, with one being a Lord Sovereign model maybe??

Likely not a lot of value other than sentimental.

My first bow was a Golden Sovereign. It arrowed a few for me at a young age.

Those are target arrows. The bows are laminated recurves like many of us had back in the day. If you are looking for values, go to the bay site and search. Look at completed auctions or where open auctions are.

I would think you could still shoot them if you cared to. They are nice and light to carry in the woods.

Yep, knew they were target arrows...since that's all we did. The 6 from Herter's were shot probably once. I'm not a hunter, just loved the beauty of the bows. Still target practice, though! Thanks...I did do some research on HSO-Classifieds... and something weird happened today... the guy who came to clean up the furnace knew all about them! How odd and rather propitious!
