Why does the NFL even have instant replay? The ball clearly did not cross the plane on that AP carry.

Perhaps a gift from the officials for screwing up last week?

What a joke of a system that is.

Madieu misses the int, into the hands of the Patriots receiver...what the heck Childress, why don't you challenge the call

I don't ever comment on football, but why Chilly didn't challenge on the last play in the first quarter, making us run another play where we got a make-up call from last week, and then challenge this last catch, is JUST NOT defendable. Sorry. My one and only rant for the year.

looks like at least up to now, coaching has designed a good game plan. looks like it was designed as if tjack would be qb today and they've kept that same plan in place for favre. lots of A P and a few safe passes mixed in. not a bad strategy regardless of who's under center this year.

Is there a reason why we run over the right side of the line on 4th and goal? What a joke. Same joke we saw on 4th and goal against the dolphins.

Exactly what I thought...AP must favor his right side or right arm to carry the ball in.

like chilly is gonna out coach belichek.

Vikings did have a better gameplan than the Pats.

Our defense...tackling to be more specific...really blew it in this game.

I think Favre has taken his last NFL snap...really looked like he broke his jaw.

Favre will play next week after some stitches. Can't blame this one on him.....he played well. Zero protection from the o-line once again while Brady could have had a cup of coffee back there. Defense looked absolutely terrible.

Looked like a fractured jaw to me........ he looked like he was in a lot of pain, a lot more than a simple cut on the chin. We'll see what they say after the game...

He mumbled something during the press conference, so it looks like just a cut on the chin. Probably a concussion as well.

too bad moss didn't catch that pass for a td after the interference flag was thrown. had he kept going he probably could have made a diving catch. I don't remember but does he ever dive for passes or does he only go vertical? seems like all his great catches that he's made in his career were cases here he landed on his feet rather than sprawling out attempting to make a diving catch?

certainly not a case where you say that cost them the game but a quick td there leaves more time on the clock and favre doesn't get knocked out of the game a few plays later. the defense still would have needed to make a stop and seems like the d isn't up to too many big stops late in the game this year playing tougher schedule than last year.

2-5 record....another pickoff and no tds for favre.....tjack 4/6 for a td and 2 point conversion and a 33 yard run play, let the kid play and at least give us a chance....this team has givin up on favre.

Because their big tomatoe was lined up on the left side (thier version of pat williams...forgot his name)

I was grumbling about this today also.

I mean if your going to have instant replay, give the officials the latitude to make the call that is correct. Not this stupid rule that only "X" part of the call is challengeable etc. And to take the point further, I agree with Moose that challenging a play should not be te coaches responsibility. It should be the refs and the league officials in the booth to make sure every play is called correctly and if it wasn't to call down to the field and have them reverse it etc. That is what they are getting paid for, not to apologise the week after for a blown call.

Yes, and so is our 2 big horses. If you can't trust Hutch and Mckinnie to get a yard then there is something wrong. I'll take those 2 against Wilfork vs. the route they took.

Randy Moss continues to be an a$$ hole and a non-factor....... frown

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Randy Moss was quiet in his return to New England only until the game ended.

Following the Minnesota Vikings' 28-18 loss to the New England Patriots, the Vikings receiver announced that he would not be answering any more questions from the media for the rest of the season.

Moss had not spoken to reporters since Oct. 13, taking a $25,000 fine from the NFL for failing to cooperate with the media. The money didn't sway him to open up last week in the days leading up to his return to New England, which traded him to the Vikings on Oct. 6.

"I got fined $25,000 for not speaking to you all. Me, personally, I really don't care," Moss said. "But at the same time, I do answer questions throughout the week. For the league to fine me $25,000, I'm not going to answer any more questions for the rest of this year. If it's going to be an interview, I'm going to conduct [it]. ... I'll ask myself the questions, then give y'all the answers. So from here on out, I'm not answering any more questions for the rest of this season."

If Moss is fined $25,000 for the remaining nine weeks of the season, including the week he was already fined, he will have paid the league $250,000. To put that into context, the minimum NFL salary for a player with zero accrued seasons is $325,000. A total fine of $250,000 would represent 4.1 percent of his Moss' $6.4 million salary.

Moss was making his return to New England after an early October trade that sent him to Minnesota. He was a nonfactor in his homecoming.

"It was hard for me to come here to play, an up-and-down thing. I was on a roller coaster all week," said Moss, who had one catch for 8 yards for Minnesota. "To see these guys running plays and I know what they are doing, I know what type of feeling they have in the locker room.

"I miss every last helmet in that locker room."

Moss' biggest impact Sunday was drawing two penalties during a late touchdown drive that got the Vikings back in the game, but cost them quarterback Brett Favre.

The Patriots were called for illegal contact on Moss, who was trying to get open for a pass from Favre before the QB took a shot to the chin and did not return.

Moss exchanged a long hug with Patriots coach Bill Belichick and several former teammates before leaving what was his home field less than a month before.

"He's a Hall of Famer. He made a lot of great contributions for this team," Belichick said after the game. "But today he was the competition. That's the way it is in this league."

Moss caught 50 touchdowns in 52 games during his time with the Patriots, but did draw a few boos as he and the Vikings took the field for their first series.

By the end of the game, Moss said some fans were cheering instead of jeering and he was touched by the reception, although still disappointed by the final score.

"I'm definitely down that we lost this game. I didn't expect we'd lose this game," Moss said. "I don't know how many more times I'll be in New England again. But I leave Coach Belichick and those guys with a salute: 'I love you guys. I miss you. I'm out.'"

Moss didn't see the ball until an 8-yard completion from Favre early in the third quarter. Fans barely had time to boo before Favre rolled out on the next play and found Adrian Peterson for a 25-yard pass that set up the Vikings at the 13-yard line and led to the field goal that put Minnesota up 10-7.

He was a nonfactor until he drew a pass interference penalty that gave the Vikings first-and-goal at the 9, then drew another penalty on the play that knocked Favre from the game.

"Whether he had 20 catches or zero catches, the main goal for us as a team is to win and that didn't happen," Vikings receiver Greg Lewis said. "So that's frustrating."

One of the surprises for me was Tjack going 2 for 2 with 2 scores cryeekcrazy...look out Hall of Fame, here he comes! laugh

Just imagine what he can do if he was warmed up!!)

wow, I just saw a replay of the interference call where moss let the ball fall without an effort to try to catch it. he wouldn't even needed to dive for it and could have caught it in stride.

he certainly wasn't the worst performer out there today but he didn't really add anything which is surprising. sure would have thought he'd be very motivated today to really put forth the effort.

Yeah TJack looked deadly out there. Stepped in and drove his team for a touchdown on his very first snap, followed up with a 2 point conversion pass.

A very bright future for the Vikings once Childress has Tarvaris Jackson back behind center.

Yeah and then with almost 2 minutes left he drove the Vikings...about 33 yards with a RUN. He still had Randy Moss out there and that supposed cannon for an arm. He didn't even look like he wanted to throw the ball. The game is over if you don't score anyway, just heave the darn thing up there for Randy or WHOEVER to go after. If they intercept it, oh well, game over anyway. But he just held on like they had the lead and he didn't want to throw a pick. Yeah, great game TJack.
