2 years ago i was out on coon lake in my portable ice house a frabill prowler Gt it was brand new and i had a SNOWMOBILE come crashing through it at about 50 mph. luckuly nobody got hurt. all my electronics and poles got replaced and i purchased a new ice house. HERES THE PROBLEM: my ice house was a flip over and had alumium U shaped poles to hold the canvas out. every one of those poles is broken. i want to get those poles replaced but i dont know anywhere to possibly look. frabill will not reply to any msgs i leave them. so if anyone knows a place around the metro i can go to get these new poles i would greatly appreciate it . thanks

I was able to fabricate round ones using 1/2 inch conduit. I had to use two pieces for each of the U shaped pieces. Where they met I took a piece of 3/4 inch copper pipe and slid it over the joint and then used pop rivets to hold that in place. The pieces that connected the U to the house weren't broken so I just slid the conduit over them. I was able to salvage the little clip jobberdos that stopped the pieces from sliding too far apart and put them in place on the new stuff. That was a pain but I managed to do it. I used a light steel wool to clean up the pieces that I was salvaging and they all slid pretty well after that.

Mine was an Otter and a call to the factory in Maple Lake I was told they didn't have the round material any more.

Theres so many idiots on Coon Lake on a regular basis. Theres also a lot of really nice folks too.

Try looking on a guy named Craigs website or an auction site for the same house you have. If you can find one in rough shape that still has good poles your in business.

I am shocked you are having a problem hearing back from Frabill. I emailed them for some replacement parts last year and they responded very promptly. I recommend emailing them if you have not already done so. [email protected]

Best of luck.
