Need a quiet heater for deer stand?

I would like to have a small heater in my deer stand and the one I have got seems to make a little hissing noise so I was wondering if anyone has found a really quite heater?

I use an old milkhouse heater, no noise and very little glow. Hook a hose up to it from a #20 propane tank and you're done. I found mine at a garage sale for $5.

If you are in a fully enclosed stand i would go with the buddy heater!! I have one and they are awesome and make ZERO noise and you can either use a small 1 pound tank or you can buy a hose to connect to a bigger tank as well! the one pound tank is nice cause it connects right on to the unit so you don't have extra to carry!

But they do not work well if wind has access to the unit!

Got a question for you guys with the buddy heaters. Mine does make a hissing noise and will cut out every 5 minutes or so, even when there is no wind. Is there something that can be done about this. I would hate to just throw it away.

Ya the connection is tight. It only does it for about ten seconds before the pilot goes out. I also posted this in the ice fishing forum seeing more people probably deal with these heaters then.

Go to a junk yard. Get yourself a leather truck seat with electric heat. Then bring a 12 volt battery out to your blind with you. Warm, quiet, and mostly sent free.

Never tried it, but was thinking I could set up a permanent blind with one of those, and just switch out batteries. You'd need an ATV to get it there though, I would think.

I'm not sure how long you could run the seat heater, with just the battery though.
