Paintless dent repair

Wish-I-Were-Fishn

Question

Is there any difference in this technique, or is it the same no matter who you use?

Any recommendations?

The techniques are relatively standard across the industry. Quality will depend on who you go through. I've been through a handful of sessions where people came in and did PDR... pretty cool stuff. Interesting tools anyway.

I can't recall any of the places i used to send folks for PDR unfortunately... they were all NE metro spots though, and I am sure there are a bunch of places in b-ville that would help ya out.

Yep, technique and tools pretty much the same. Comes down to how good the guy doing the work is. There are some guys around the metro that do really good work. Others, not so good. I've seen dents made worse, popped paint and things like that when done wrong. Best thing is to call local body shops or car dealerships. If they don't have an in-house tech they usually have a PDR guy that comes around once or twice a week to the shop or dealer. I know some of the guys doing it will come to your house or work and save you the trip.

I know of someone that does an excellent job. Uses 2 techniques for various types of dents. one is the traditional with the rods, the other uses a torch to pop small dent (hail). Amazing stuff, takes the perfect touch with that torch to pop the dent but not affect the paint. Works at a big place in White Bear Lake. You can tell us the name of the place he works at or out of and his first name or full name.

My friend does it for side projects if anyone needs some dent removal. Obviously depends on how big the dent is too though.
