I was waiting for some snow pics! My digital was dead so I brought the video cam up with me Sun morning but the wind/snow wouldn't let up and I didn't want to get any moisture in it. It was a winter wonderland with all the white stuck to the trees. Beautiful.

The snow in the trees may look nice but I heard of a lot of issues with trees falling in So. MN. I heard one instance where the tree the hunter was in was the one that fell. I don't think the hunter was seriously injured...thankfully.

I've often thought about while being harnessed to the tree in strong winds. A guy would almost be better off unstrapping himself so he could bail. Scary stuff. Glad to hear that guy was alright.

Here's a couple of pics from stands I hunt.

The first pic is a morning pic looking to the east. Only saw a small doe fawn that morning, but she fed around the base of my tree for 15 minutes.

The second pic is where I ended up shooting a 5 ptr on the morning of 11-05-10. My first a.m. bow kill and my first bow kill using doe decoy, that was standing in the green spot, facing away from me at 21 yds.

These are from rifle season - although i am pretty sure i wouldn't have had my camera in hand if my bow was in reach.

Got out of work a little early today and it was just to nice not to be in the stand so I grabed the gear and headed out ended up passing 9 does tonight just have the regular archery buck/doe tag left next time out the does will not be so lucky only 10 days left and I don't know how much more I will make it out. Got to love a standing corn field in december

Looks like some great spots. Here's a new stand I set up. (Per my other post, this was taken by the Cuddeback when functioning properly.) I plan on putting up another stand out there this weekend or sometime next week toward those woods in the distance where the doe is headed. That spot is a small hill or knoll that in the middle is cut away and filled with old stones that were once the foundation of a barn that sat there. It overlooks a (dried up this year) creek and a wooded valley. Will have to take some pics from the stand!
