Jameson
East. I need to trim some branches for gun season North East. I believe 22 yards to the corn North North West. West South. Had a red fox run the far shoreline tonight.
AuggieDawg11
View to the north. There's an oak ridge that runs east to west about 50 yards away. Creates a nice funnel to a picked corn field. View to the east. 40 yards to the woods edge and 50 yards to the pine plot. Does bed in the pines. View to the South. View to the West. sticknstring
This is from a double-ladder stand I took my wife out to last Friday evening. Need a few hard frosts to knock down some of the vegetation.
archerystud
Okay I finally got out hunting. This is one of my Twin Cities stands. The other is about 50 yards away but covers completely different trails. Each stand is setup for a different wind direction View to the West, swamp (bedding area) beyond the pine trees: View to the North, my other stand is about 50 yards away. Shooting area, Most deer will either come from the North (left) or SW (right):
Dave S
SNS, it appears your stand is starting to suffer from the same plague (Buckthorn) as the area I hunt in. I know come next spring I will be busy clearing brush.
sticknstring
Sorry to hear you've got it too. It's terrible stuff. The only good thing is that it provides cover well into the fall. I'm going to try and do some hinge cutting this winter to provide some better bedding cover and keep at it with the food plots. All a guy can do without burning the woods down. Jameson
oh my! Hinge cut buckthorn! Please cut it, and treat the stump with 41% round up. Yes, my pics have some buckthorn in them, too. I wish I would have cut the big ones and treated them with round-up, but didn't know better at the time. Now in the Spring when the ground is soft, or maybe even during a wet stretch of summer I'll be pulling all the small buckthorn. The small ones pull easy enough. Great pics everyone. Thanks for sharing.

archerystud
Okay this is my second Twin Cities stand. I've shot my last two big bucks out of this stand, one with an 18 inch inside spread and the other had a 21. View to the West: View to the North, this is where the buck in my avatar was standing at 22 yards: View to the East, where I shot the 18 inch spread at 15 yards:

First picture was the first of 19 deer that showed up in the alfalfa field looking from my ground blind! And the last picture is what the deer see when they look up at me! Jacob I am not to far away (Brainerd Area) but I can tell you there are a few bears in the area, its just that people never see them. I seem to bump one every other bow season.
