This eve. went out goose hunting and seen about 20-25 flocks and not a single one wanted to come close enough to shoot let alone decoy.

heard the same problem from many people both in the feild and water ducks and geese i think today was a less is more day

never decoyed a bird until I pulled all but a few decoys

Whackage and stackage is on in Rochester. Lots of very cooperative birds on a guided hunt.

Sat till 9:30 this am. ended up with seven mallards and one goose.

I didnt take a photo back at home, but heres another cool gun blast one.

Cool ! Cornfield between Hugo and Forest lake today. One mallard hen. Birds sat tight till after 11 in the fog.The pair of mallards was the only thing in range. Over 1000 geese flying in one huge flock in distance. Only saw about 20 ducks total. No shooting heard at all. Can't decide whether to try the field again cause it is supposed to clear up or hunt over water for the last day. I can hear the fat lady tuning up her vocal chords.

Seen close to a thousand geese this evening in flocks of 4 to 200 and I could turn them but couldnt get them to commit or get close enough for a shot and then 1 min after shooting was done the mallards showed up ... typical waterfowling

Hunted near home this afternoon and shot a can but didn't seen a heckuva lot. I'm guessing I saw a bunch of the same geese that Stringerless saw. I'm deciding to end my season on the can though. Other than the fact that she was a she it was perfect. I had a buddy with who has a young pup and she got her first duck retrieve which was cool.

This am didnt see a darn duck until we where out picking up the roto.... then of course seen a couple flocks. Might get out few times after geese next weekend other wise i can say it was a great season!

One greenie. Couple flocks of migrating geese and missed another pair of mallards. Did not see many birds. Not over for me yet. Help mama set up the tree and back out.

23 honkers and 1 mallard for 10 guys yesterday. Could have easily filled a limit with better communication and a little better shooting, but overall it was a fun day. Probably my last MN hunt for the year; should have some good shoots to come yet in SD to close out the season.

2 days of hunting, 1 goose shot with a golden BB @ 60 yards after watching hundreds of geese not even giving us the time of day! Never would have shot that far up but after all the high fly by's, I figured I would give the goose a good 15' lead and to my surprize down it comes dead as a doornail!

Tried my cornfield in Scandia. No waterfowl seen. Heard a couple good shot volleys towards Hugo. Thought the geese would head towards the river with everything else freezing up. I DID hear a rooster !!! 1st one of the year.

Large numbers of Golden-eyes and Common Mergansers on Lake Mille Lacs. Fun to see them, even though you cant hunt them.

saw something new yesterday. a field north of monti had around 300~400 trumpeters. this year duck hunting we had about 75 on the lake and i thought that was unusual.

Still seeing mallards by my house they hitting the river off our lake I also heard swans today as I sat in the spear shack

On my way home this afternoon I saw several hundred mallards and a hundred or so geese near Otsego just off the Mississippi

Been seeing the same thing, tons of geese and mallards. Even some golden eyes along with some mergansers. Still a lot of activity--fun to see! These are probably the smart ones that don't migrate and save their energy and get big and fat. Probably to smart and wouldn't respond to calling and be decoy shy too.

was out pulling gills outta 8" holes yesterday and missed a bunch because of the heavy traffic in the air. lotsa geese migrating...

I noticed a bunch of geese moving south this week as well. I expect we'll start seeing some early migrating ducks in the next 2-3 weeks.

was out checkin ice conditions today and seen a ratio of 10/1 for waterfowl vs people out. lots of mallards/geese/common mergs
