Doesn't matter if I'm using PP or mono, I run 6-8' mono leaders on all my trolling rods. I use that length because it works with my length rods when it comes time to net fish and when putting the rods away for the day. All leaders are pretied with a barrel swivel on one end and a crosslock on the other. The mainline has a crosslock snapswivel.

That makes changing up quick and I'm covered for line twist with two swivels, the barrel and the snap swivel.

If I want to put on a dispy or flasher I drop the leader, I already have the crosslock snapswivle on the mainline, fast and simple.
