Taylors Falls to Oseola stretch

I am wondering how high and fast the river is now? I plan to take the kids on a canoe trip from Taylors Falls to the Oseola landing. Kids are young, so I am wondering about conditions. Also any fishing reports on that stretch? - Gurkster

was out last night catfishing by franconia boat landing and caught some nice smallmouth right next to shore up in the brush. The water is high I think its two or three feet higher than a week and a half ago. Its all the way up to the tree line. You should be able to canoe this part especially if we don't get any significant rain. caught the bass on sucker minnows but I would think twister tails or leaches fished close to the flooded brush/trees would give you some action. good luck its a beautiful stretch of the river.

Thanks FM007 -

The water is still high, but it was the wind that got us. We had a headwind the whole way, but it was still a fun day, just a little more paddling than we expected. Took us about 4 - 5 hours, but we stopped for lunch and a swim. Then stopped to help out a couple that tipped over. Got them and their gear safely to shore and called the Rangers for them. Another group got them their canoe back. Great views, and caught some fish (northern) as we paddled along. It was a fun day.
