hey Harvey, I personally haven't done so hot on Reno this yr, lots of small perch, an occasional jumbo, but its like 20 lil ones for a keeper.. I havent tried the deeper areas of the lake yet though..If you want, i could possibly meet you there 1 day as I'm only 30 minutes away

My son and I were out there for the last couple hours of sunlight Monday. Been wanting to try it all winter. Pretty disappointing. My son did manage to catch one nice walleye but it was the only red line we had on the Marcums. It made my sons night, but it was hardly worth the drive from where we were for one fish. Not sure where all the crappies went on this lake, but I sure know where they aren't. We will try it again closer to ice out.

Ice Camper,

how much ice was on Reno when you were up there? looking to give it a try this weekend and will be driving a 1/2ton w/16' house. Are there plenty of permy's out on the lake now?

Thanks for the info

The crappies really got pounded on last spring on Reno. They bit really well for weeks and there were a lot of people fishing them.

I drove up there one night for this action!! It was nuts! I heard of the bite 2 weeks before I had gone up there. When I went must have been 4 other boats with multiple lines, and over a dozen fishing the shoreline..talked to a few locals and was glad a few of them were C&R....but wow! The crappies were everywhere in that area.

Norm,

I did not measure the ice, but I saw a few P/U trucks come out while we were fishing. There were a handful of permanents out there. My son and I took the wheeler as we have done all winter. Not worth chancing it this year in my opinion.

Hey Locals.,, With no help I'll be forced to find em' on my own and I'm more likely to blast out exact details and spots all over this site! Take that as a threat AND a warning.. MUHAHAHHAAAAA.... You better hope they're not biting! grin

Three way swivel, 2 foot 1 oz. drop weight with a 5 foot leader and a buzz bait in 23 feet of water. You go walleye champ.

Really?? Well I would tell you that everyday is different. And besides, everyone knows Reno and where to go. Fish and fish and not the fisherman!

Yep times are a changing. We used to bow hunt out a little shack along the snake river out of Pinecity.   The Vikings game came in a bit better on the black and white when we boosted my buddy up the tree, so he could hammer the rabbit ears up there. We could at least now see which team had the ball on the fuzzy screen! 🤣🤣

Ours came down to the ground on the outside of the house so we could just walk up to it for turning, and get yelled at safely. 😉

That antenna reminds me of my childhood. My father would have me go up on the roof and yell at me out the window to turn it certain directions for better TV clarity

Not sure how they did the wood back then, but now they have plastic I'm sure you could bend into a circle if yea needed. 👌

What I really wanna know is:   How’d get that lattice to curve like that?  Bomb diggity!

Fish Newton lake is great for walleyes. Everyone goes to basswood and forgets about newton. The late fall pike bite in pipestone is amazing and it’s a great time to catch the big walleyes are up there feeding too.

It would cost you 830 bucks to watch every game this NFL season under multiple platforms.   I don't have peacock or espn+ or whatever they want me to have, so I'll just have to relent on being able to watch a few games.  I refuse to cave in to their demands just to watch the Packers play the Eagles in Brazil.  I think last year peacock had the exclusive rights to the Miami/KC playoff game too.  I'm sure that will occur again in January.

Well it's a win, but it wasn't to Purdy with all the turn overs and penalties!

Oop, must be another Vikings game.  So far it's been a Prudy game, Viks!  😁
