0-5 in SUPER BOWLS

Badger

I believe this just might be the year the Vikes win the Super Bowl.

After all...NO TEAM has ever lost 5 Super bowls. wink

Not yet Ricky...but if they get that far 0-5 would be sweet!!! Another "Missing Ring" film would be great!! grin

I would rather get that far then to have been eliminated already.

With our Q-back situation the way it is, we better get it done this year or next or it may be awhile until the Vikes find themselves in this position again. sick

Now here's a purple fan that realizes it's Super Bowl or bust this year!!! Better get it done now because TJack is the future for the Vikes LOL!!! sick

First of all, I believe if we can't pull it off this year Favre will be back for one more year...so I give the Purple a two year run for the ring. Secondly, TJack will never...and I repeat NEVER get to lead this team again after Chilly pulled Favre out of retirement. It proved that the coaches, players and organization has come to their senses about the PROSPECT out of Alabama State.

I don't quite understand why we are negative on the Vikings this year. Sure, I've had my moments of frustration like everyone else (Arizona and Carolina games). I think a team is almost guaranteed to go through those games in a season and I'm a little relieved that we hopefully have it behind us.

And as to the original question about 0-5 in the big one with Favre. The Broncos were also 0-4 when an elite, aging QB by the name of Elway took the field. He won 2 consecutive Super Bowls and retired in the best possible way. I would guess Elway's exit has crossed #4's mind a few times this year. He would love the chance to go out the same way.

GB vs Denver was my favorite Super Bowl of all time, since I'm both a Broncos fan and Packer hater (sorry Green & Yellow). Just a treat to see two class act QB's battling it out in that game.

Harvey I'm worried about you.......have you been taking your daily serving of purple kool-aid??

Or is it the trolls beginning to wear down on you..... whistlewhistle

No one is wearing me down other than the Vikes. As I have stated, I watch them, cheer for them and hope they win but, I would not bet a nickle on them.

No purple kool aid for me, thank you.

As much fun as it would be to see the Queens go 0-5 in SBs I'd get much more enjoyment from them not even getting there. Of course IF they did(insert hilarious laughter, again :D)) even I might get a little kick out of Foss with a Queens avatar for a whole year. grin

Its kind of like fishing. You go out everytime not knowing if you will catch the big one or anything at all. Half the fun is wondering what will happen. But if you keep saying "I know I'm not gonna get the big one because I never have", what fun is that?? So far the Vikes have let the big one slip off the line 4 times, maybe this year they will land it. wink

it will be interesting to see how the vikings play in the playoffs, and how chilly calls the plays!

If they want to go to the big dance which I dought they will, they had better let Brett call the plays period....

There ya go, bet on the packers because they won it all in the mid 90's. Its gotta be a sure thing....

That has nothing to do with this year James.

Would the Silver Fox ever say anything remotely untrue. whistle

Not unless he had two or three months to think it over.

We disliked him because he played for the packers, not because he was Brett Favre. If they lose in the superbowl....well that means i get to watch my favorite team in the superbowl, something i wouldnt have been able to do if junkson was at QB.

Its a rather safe assumption Rick. As safe as assuming that either the cowboys or eagles will win tomorrow.

Not really. Because it's a fact either the Eagles or Cowboys will win.

I know you think very highly of yourself(we do too smile ) and like to believe your opinion is fact but it just simply is not.

At least we didn't lose 4 in a ROW

Boy

I

Love

Losing

Super Bowls

You have to admit that was a great feat making it to 4 SB's in a row. Only team to make it to 4 in a row.

Would have been even better to win ONE. Scott Norwood still dreams about the missed FG, I bet. He's a real life "Ray Finkle"

Hate to break it to you Rick, but it pretty much is that safe and pretty much anyone will tell you that.

You darn well its not opinion. How about this. You tell us all what you've seen out of junkson to think he would have led this team to a superbowl season and then you can tell me that my asuumption isnt pretty safe.

I do not dislike BF because he played for the Pack, heck I admired his talent.

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
