There is a big antenna near the landing. If you are in the area you can just drive towards that.

Wow, I was on the lake today after being gone for over a week and it was a zoo out there! A group was firing mortars and then fireworks after the sun went down. Vehicles and new villages of houses all over the lake. This lake is getting more pressure this year than I have seen in the four years that I have fished it. Must be all the great reports(??) on FM??

Quite amazing how the word spreads around this place. Makes ya wonder if anyone tries anything for themselves anymore??? I bet if I said that a Sartell town pond held crappies there'd be houses out there tomorrow...

Just what I was thinking....isn't technology wonderful? The other option I have considered is that people are just fishing closer to home with the economy and all.

the heard mentality often found in ice fishing can either be good or bad for a lake. in the case of mayhew i think it is great. while everyone is chasing round 6 inch perch it keeps them off a good lake that they could deplete.

I was just out there a week ago and there weren't that many houses, This is the time of year that it gets over populated!!! How many houses are out there now???

Pressure on lakes like this is why i started driving an hour to go fishing. Nothing like fighting with a crowd to catch a few stunted perch/crappie. Good luck to all those willing!

I just drove out there to see what the hub bub was about. I couldn't believe my eyes there were at least 7 or 8 traps out along with more than 20 permanents and about a dozen vehicles. When I was a little kid we used to fish below the little dam and catch decent sunfish and heard of some nice northerns being speared during the winter but all there ever have been in Mayhew are dinky fish.

Yep times are a changing. We used to bow hunt out a little shack along the snake river out of Pinecity.   The Vikings game came in a bit better on the black and white when we boosted my buddy up the tree, so he could hammer the rabbit ears up there. We could at least now see which team had the ball on the fuzzy screen! 🤣🤣

Ours came down to the ground on the outside of the house so we could just walk up to it for turning, and get yelled at safely. 😉

That antenna reminds me of my childhood. My father would have me go up on the roof and yell at me out the window to turn it certain directions for better TV clarity

Not sure how they did the wood back then, but now they have plastic I'm sure you could bend into a circle if yea needed. 👌

What I really wanna know is:   How’d get that lattice to curve like that?  Bomb diggity!

Fish Newton lake is great for walleyes. Everyone goes to basswood and forgets about newton. The late fall pike bite in pipestone is amazing and it’s a great time to catch the big walleyes are up there feeding too.

It would cost you 830 bucks to watch every game this NFL season under multiple platforms.   I don't have peacock or espn+ or whatever they want me to have, so I'll just have to relent on being able to watch a few games.  I refuse to cave in to their demands just to watch the Packers play the Eagles in Brazil.  I think last year peacock had the exclusive rights to the Miami/KC playoff game too.  I'm sure that will occur again in January.

Well it's a win, but it wasn't to Purdy with all the turn overs and penalties!

Oop, must be another Vikings game.  So far it's been a Prudy game, Viks!  😁
