And yet he still managed to pass for 671 yds, rush for over 50 yds, throw 5 TDs and only one pick last season against the Vikes. I would take those numbers against any team!

I would rather have the 2 wins!

That's simple....he was playing from BEHIND in both of those games and NEEDED to throw the ball. Please go lay by your dish.

Zepman,

So are Allens numbers skewed than because he knew the Packers were going to be throwing?

What it the comment about the dish?

Probably...but his numbers proved to be more important in the end of those two games because he brought home the WIN!!

...how bout that Tavaris Jackson.

I want to see T Jack play against the first string, in a real game before giving him any atta boys.

Last week I think it was the first time I have seen him lead the team, and it didnt look like he was lost out there. It looked like he took control over the team, like a real QB would do, and not just follow the play that was called. Maybe he learned something from Favre?

Do you see the Vikes drafting a QB (1 or 2 round) in next years draft, with at this point knowing Brent is retiring?

I really hope so!

Either way it's too late IMO...they should have crossed that bridge in each of the past two years. Green Bay struck gold with Rodgers and I'm afraid the Vikes are going to be on the outside looking in for quite awhile after Favre leaves. Too many good YOUNG q-backs in our division and we're going to be left with TJack after this year. It was a good ride.

We can always trade for another old washed up QB grin

If you are counting Pre-season he had 2 of the best pre-season games in Viking history last season before Favre came in. He had a perfect QB rating in one game and near perfect in the other. He was fantastic. But why let the stats get in the way of a good whine session. grin

What makes you think he will REALLY retire this time?????

Brent has retired 3 or 4 times, but I do really think this will be his last go around.

Unfortunately for the Vikes we have 17 Free Agents deals coming up!

Like I said Rodgers looks great until Jared is on him all game, Jared did pretty much win them games for us, he made monster plays when we needed them most.

I'm a Rodgers fan, I probably had more faith in him then most Packer fans, thats why I dominated all my fantasy teams last season when I held back on QB and got Rodgers in the late rounds in every league.

Your coach is a total moron for not trying to stop Jared, I could not believe they left him singled almost all game as he punished your guy's pride and joy time and time again.

As for Junkson, he looks a little more poised, but he still hasn't shown anything IMO. Everyone looks decent when there's no pressure and the games don't matter. When he doesn't pan out we can still find a free agent vet if Favre don't come back. If he has another great season I could still see him come back though lol.

Honestly guys....Webb looks more comfortable in our offense right now than TJack does after 4 LONG years. It's almost embarrassing to watch.

Please...pretty please...will some of the TJack supporters out there tell me AGAIN what I'm not seeing?

I don't get it.

tarvaris jackson will not be a starting quarterback unless he goes to a canadian team. i say cut him or trade him. sage has more poise and experience and webb will be a nfl star in some position if not qb. good luck.

Water Temps 48-52. I tried for crappies and caught two walleye. I can't even crappie fish. 1/32 ounce jig and a tiny minnow

Looks like you could use a FM hat. 😉    The future son in law prefers the lump coal.  He’ll start it in coal starter over a propane burner, then dump in it his smoker grill as needed.   Congrats on the clean break “over there”.

Should really start a What yeah Smoking thread!    Another fun place we tried when up in Duluth. OMC stands for "Oink, Moo, Cluck" They serve pork cracklins for starter to test their sauces on.

On the east side of St. Boni. It's not too far from me. A friend lives in St Boni and loves the place. I haven't tried it yet.

First time ever going there with the wife. Little spendy but they make some darn good piles of meat! We had the brisket! 😋

I have heard it's because of the drought. I know in my area ( meeker co.) the sloughs that they trap minnows in have dried up.

Excuse my ignorance, but was is driving the bait prices? Usually the shortage is due to a late ice-out from the swamps and streams. This year should have been much better.

I should probably learn to use the 6+ containers of lures I have collecting dust in my tackle box. We got on a decent crappie bite the last couple of evenings and I broke out some plastics.  I caught some crappies on them ,just need to build my confidence in using them! I did notice they didn't seem to hold on to them as long as minnows!
