Is anyone else sick of hearing the term "eat some crow"? I've heard it on this thread about 5 times more than I've ever heard it in my entire life! sick

Of course you are sick of hearing it and saying it, because you're as worried as the rest of the haters that you will be dining on it all too soon as well laugh

In all likelyhood ricky, if your boy junkson does get to hold the reigns next season, his past performance indicates that you will be eating the crow and myself and others will be left wondering again why we are wasting any more time with him. Junkson naysayers are simply going on past performance. Junkson supporters are living in some sort of dreamland hoping he becomes something more than he has shown us.

By the way, Dan LeFevour played his last game tonight at the GMAC bowl...put up some very good numbers, including a rushing TD in overtime. I think he'll be taken before the 4th round, so if he's still there in the 3rd round the vikes should grab him.

No, I'm just sayin T-Jack will start before Sage does. You said the opposite. grin

You're the one who drooled over hours of Sages Houston game-film and bragged how he would be the starter over T-Jack.

We will see if your hours of film study show us how good you are at projecting QB talent and support your Sage game film watching man-love. smile

neither sage or jackson is the answer. If there is a quarterback battle between those two the Vikings lose. Both are no more than game managers and neither has the ability to take us very far into the playoffs.

If Favre retires we are back to square one at quarterback.

Jackson is Andre Ware all over again only with less talent.

Sage is the new Gus Ferrari.

LOL,

you might be right. And with respect to T-Jack we may just see if you are right. I'm saying we haven't seen enough yet to know.

When I watched the first half of the Chicago game I immediately thought, yep Chili is doing to Favre what he's been doing to T-Jack before.

I would like to jump in here! If the vikes dont go deep into the post season this year. I dont believe you are going to have to worry about t-jax being around next season. new contract or not chille will get the ax and I dont think the next guy in charge is going to keep chille's pet project around. Common sense tells you that the only reason t-jax is still here now is cuz chille doesnt (want to eat crow) sorry couldnt resist. He took a no name QB from a division II school and thought he would be a hero. And it didnt work out so good for him and he will never admit to making a poor choice he is much to arregant for that. my god he is to stupid to realize that the reason he got the new contract is because of the way #4 plays the game and not because of his great play calling or stellar coahing abiltys. All you t-jax lovers I really hate to have to tell you this but there is no santa no tooth fairy nor is there a career in the nfl for your boy after someone over on viking dr realizes that t-jax is better fit to work the over-nites at kwik-trip than to be QB in the nfl..

You can disagree with me if you want Ricky, but i did and still do think the vikings would be better off with Sage than junkson. You can cut the gamefilm bit as well. I can't help it your making a call between Sage and junkson without having watched one of the parties. I watched Sage play a few games and watched junkson play way to many games. I saw Sage throw the ball against teams who knew he was going to throw the ball. I watched junkson struggle against teams that were playing the run. Pretty simple.

And i'll reiterate, if i was you i'd be hoping junkson never sees the field again wearing purple because there are strong odds we will see nothing more of him than we've already seen which means the odds are we would be watching a team incapable of any kind of playoff run. Closet packer fans might be happy with that, i surely am not.

  • 3 weeks later...

It's more relevant this year than last...his contract is up...what do the Vikes do now???

With Favre going to take his time in deciding whether to come back or not...they have to re-sign him IMO. Like it or not...they have FEW other choices.

Just a heads-up...With an uncapped year T-Jack is not an unrestricted free agent this year.

Kudos for doing this. I'm sure a lot of fishermen would not have.

I know it has been raining all week but anyone have any walleye reports?  Heading up for the holiday weekend and want to do some fishing.

Partyonpine, Would you be willing to share in what areas you were getting some nice Bluegills?  I am on the east end on big bay and would like to find some good panfish.

Opener and the week after were good.  Not the numbers we normally get but better quality in the East End.  Not surprised on the weights for the Auto City a.  Usually for us we only catch a few slot fish but we averaged 3 a day for 10 days.  2 overs, biggest 27 inches.     Our best luck was 12-16 feet for quality.  When we went deeper we caught more but smaller.  Bass were really starting to heat up.  For me little earlier than normal.  Found some nice Bluegills the day we went after some panfish.  Dock fishing was as many as we wanted per usual.

We will be up on June 8th for the week. It will be our 13th year in a row staying on the lake.  I hope the walleye are hitting the bobbers by the time that we get there.

Those are some fine specimens. Great job

I'm quite shocked to hear that a walleye tournament is still doing a live weigh in.  Virtually every event these days around here is doing a catch, photo, and release format.   Regardless, nice work.  Congrats.

On the south end...   A great week of fishing with walleyes and saugers caught in good numbers.   The go-to presentation, again, was a jig and frozen emerald shiner.  Emerald shiners are a staple in LOW and walleyes love them.  Other minnows worked also, but emerald shiners are a favorite of anglers for good reason.   The Lighthouse Gap area, Morris Point Gap and just in front of Pine Island held nice fish in 17 - 21' of water.  Various schools of walleyes and saugers across the south shore.     A quarter ounce jig in gold, glow white, pink, orange, chartreuse, or a combo of these colors tipped with a minnow worked well again.   Some big pike and jumbo perch being caught by walleye anglers. On the Rainy River...  Some nice walleyes were caught on the river this weekend, although most anglers normally head to the lake.  12 - 15' of water is holding some nice fish.   Sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River is closed until the keep season starts up again July 1st. Up at the NW Angle...  Some nice walleyes being caught along with a mixed bag.  12 - 25 feet of water.  Points, neck down areas and bays with warming water were holding good fish this week.    The go-to presentation was a jig and minnow as on the south shore.  A mixed bag as is common around the Angle.

Nice work!   Here's two words you hardly ever hear anyone say anymore.  "grateful and humbled"

RLG, thanks for the shout-out!     Jeff and I are still trying to wrap our heads around what happened this past weekend.  We are humbled and full of gratitude  for having won 'The Classic' for a second time.     We practiced through all the rain on Thurs and the wind on Friday and found six different spots holding big fish.  Fishing was good on both days with several 'overs' in our catch...but would it hold up for another day?   We didn't know.     On tourney day, we made a long run to our first spot where I lucked out on a 26.5"er on my second cast.  Jeff followed up with a thick 27" er a few minutes later, which turned out to be the big fish for the event at 7.26lbs.  We finished out our limit and weighed-in at 10:30 am for the welfare of the fish in our livewell.    There were some big weights in this event which would have won in most other years, but - for whatever reason - this was our day.  Everything just went our way.  Again, we are just super grateful and humbled by this success.  We also want to congratulate all the other anglers who did well and give a big 'thank you' to the tournament organizers who put on such a great event!
