I haven't been to either one of these lakes since I was just a little kid. Thinking of taking my family there in a couple weeks. I have a forest service map that shows several campsites on each lake. It says there is a concrete ramp on silver island. Is it possible to launch a big boat (Alumacraft Trophy 190) on either of these lakes or do I need to bring a 12' and the kicker? How is the fishing this time of year?

Thanks in advance for any input anyone has on this area.

Take it easy and you'll be able the launch the big boat. Water levels are about normal, which means you're good if it's a roller trailer, and you'll need to work a bit with bunks. Bring bug dope - lots of it. Consider wind direction when you choose your campsite - any breeze you can catch will help alot with the bugs. Shop a bit before settling in. Fish are still shallow - bring plenty of leeches and crawlers, an ice, of course.

Thanks Heartman.

Do either of these lakes get much traffic?
