Pre-Spawn Pan Fish/ Catfish

Anybody have strategies or locations (lakes or river near St.cloud) for some good pan fishing before the spawn? Also any advice for good catfishing spots (by boat)or strategies on the mississippi near St.Cloud or on the chain? Any advice would help!!!!

Look for shallow dark bottom bays for panfish. SHould start anytime now. For cats still look for deeper holes and work them up into the shallows.

fished on the chain last week and where i fish the panfish were not shallow yet except

for an aftersundown 20 minute flury of crappie action hitting the bugs on topwater. as borch said the cats must still be in the deeper holes, they are coming in shallow right before sundown, but have yet to catch one after dark or during the day in the shallow bays. saw a lot of decayed weeds turned up last night.
