Haven't used 8 yet. I've been running seven since it came out and like it a lot. Doesn't matter which ISP you have. Firefox is another good browser.

There is also Safari for windows now. I downloaded it and putzed with it for a couple hours, not bad, about the same as FireFox(which is my browser of choice) IEs tabbed browsing doesn't seem as user friendly to me.

FireFox all the way here. I think the hackers have written less viruses for Firefox. All I know is that my antivirus software finds alot less garbage ever since I switched to Firefox.

I've been using Google's Chrome browser since it was released and really like it. Very similar to Firefox which was my favorite. I don't care for IE at all.

I loaded IE8 on mine although I too have Firefox as my default browser.

IE8 is playing a little catch-up now. They've added some features similar to what Firefox already had. Some added safety features and more customization but not a whole lot more than what they had before. I still like Firefox better. I find IE is slower as well.

IE's link to the operating system is what makes it an attractive target for hackers. No browser is 100% secure, but the ones with more vulnerabilities and users are the more targetted.

As far as browsers I run Firefox with ad-block plus and the ad-block updater. It doesn't catch all the ads but gets most of the more annoying ones. The newer IE is a much better choice than the older versions, but still is seconds to Firefox. Opera is another very solid browser choice (and Opera Mini is an absolute must if you browse from a phone), though there's more to it than a typical browser so it's not as intuitive. Haven't used Safari or Chrome, but Safari has been named the most vulnerable at security conferences. Chrome I hear is minimalistic which always has it's ups and downs. My guess is that it's part of bigger plans for google in the future that may make it a more attractive product.
