I will call 911 first then you!

Or...

Would you like it the other way around so they can deal with your first??

The other thing to identify it by in the pix, but they may remove it is the fold down RV TV att, on top! Good luck finding it. I would love to walk up on some guys like that! I wonder if they would fit down a 8 or 10"inch hole! mad

Hmmmm. So they're watching TV in my house huh? Well, it's actually my Dads house. Call 911 first! I don't wanna go to jail!

BTW, with the current temps, a 10" hole will turn into a 20 in no time!

Hope you get your house back...on a side note any relation to Rod and Cindy? They are customers of mine, and very cool people.

Hoggs, sorry about your house. I actually had two of those buzzers. Got them about 15 years ago and just tossed them this year.

hoggs222, I talked to a guy that lives on Locke and fishes every morning in his wheel house out there. He said he saw the same house out at the same spot from really early in the morning and they would leave before first light came. He said they haven't been back since Wednesday morning.

I gave him the full discription of your house and told him to call authorities if he sees it. If I talk to more locals out there, I will make them aware also

Hmmm. Sounds like someone might be cookin up some meth? Or not? Not sure why they'd drag the house onto a lake to do that?

Thanks!

Maybe the meth cooked them out of house and home. They probably don't have a permanent place to stay but still need to feed the habit. Putting it on the ice would make it "fit in". Once daylight comes, it may be spotted and then it is time to hit the road until darkness falls and nobody can get a full view on the stolen property?????? Merely a thought. Having had numerous things stolen within the last couple of months without having any assistance from law enforcement has me thinking of the "low life" scenario on things and doing my own investigative process.

Thats exactly what he said. Exact quote "It seems to me that there must be some *&^%heads making dope in there"

Everyday I read these posts I am hoping that you guys find these people. If the house that slugger saw is indeed hoggs house, it has got to be around the area somewhere.

Well, if they're addicted to whatever or not, I hope they're enjoying the house as much as me and my Dad could've been while fishing this weekend! Looks like it's the X2 and wheeler from here on out! Probably a good thing to use with the randomness of the ice conditions out there.

Sorry about your house hoggs that is bull #$%&! and i will also keep my eyes and ears open, but these guys luck will run out sooner our later and they will pay!! This should be a heads up to the guys out there that leave there houses without a hitchlock on it, easy way to help prevent this from happening.

Im sure if you push hard enough you could get them down an 8" hole. Hope you find it I think that next year We need to put something together drop a couple of guys off on lakes that are getting hit by these pieces of S#$%. put a couple guys out in a wheel house no lights on and let them watch the lake at night maybe if a few crooks got caught and the word got out that fisherman a setup there own task force some of this would be stopped just a thought

Keep checking all the local pawn shops as well, if you can at least find the buzzers there, that may lead you to your house. Just a thought.

I found John's house tonight. It was at the Pelican boat launch off 117. It had been repainted, but they left the stripe, which caught my eye. I drove around the side of it and the door was open about 16 inches. It was open enough that I could see the Buzzer rattle wheels and it had the TV antenna on top. I called 911 and they sent someone out. In the meantime, my wife found John's number on this post and I was able to talk with him when the police came. They painted a brown stripe on it and the brown oversprayed on the window frame. When the cop and I looked inside the house, the brown spray paint can top was on the bed and brand new 'nap' paint roller was in there as well. One left of the 3 pack. The inside of the house had a lot of garbage in it and there was a "tag" spray painted on the inside wall. It was three initials starting with a K. I can't recall the rest of the initials. Four of John's poles where still in the holder on the back wall.

btw- fishing was slow for me tonight, but I guess that doesn't matter since I found the house. smile

Way to go BartmanMN.

With the houses that have been stolen this season, it made me wonder what could be done to help locate a stolen house easier.

What if they were equipped with the same GPS tracking device put into cars that would track where the house is located? I don't recall the name of the system but it would sure help to deter some of the thefts.

Would be cool if the cops slipped a gps tracking tag in the house and the let the crooks come back for it. That way, they could catch them. However, I am guessing that it will be towed to their in pound and then recovered by Hoggs. I am happy that I found the house, but it would be even better if we caught the losers as well.

Bartman to the rescue! All I can say is wow! THANK YOU!

I gave the kind officer enough info on the house to identify it and I'm going to pick it up Monday after a job interview or sometime Tuesday.

It seems like the house was kind of trashed, a few missing items, etc... But Once again, THIS SITE RULES!

Thanks again Bartman. Sorry, throughout the excitement, etc. I have your # stored in my phone as BartmanMN and would like to personally thank you.

Cool. Where are they storing it for you?

It was lucky they they left the door open so that I could see that there was trash inside and your rattle wheels. If the door was closed, then I would have probably posted on here that I saw a house with the tv antenna, but may have not called to cops. I am guessing that they planned to come back for it and did not just abandon it since they took the time to change the appearance and left the rods inside. Hopefully they left a receipt from the store that they purchased the paint and painting supplies from so you can maybe catch them.

Kudos for doing this. I'm sure a lot of fishermen would not have.

I know it has been raining all week but anyone have any walleye reports?  Heading up for the holiday weekend and want to do some fishing.

Partyonpine, Would you be willing to share in what areas you were getting some nice Bluegills?  I am on the east end on big bay and would like to find some good panfish.

Opener and the week after were good.  Not the numbers we normally get but better quality in the East End.  Not surprised on the weights for the Auto City a.  Usually for us we only catch a few slot fish but we averaged 3 a day for 10 days.  2 overs, biggest 27 inches.     Our best luck was 12-16 feet for quality.  When we went deeper we caught more but smaller.  Bass were really starting to heat up.  For me little earlier than normal.  Found some nice Bluegills the day we went after some panfish.  Dock fishing was as many as we wanted per usual.

We will be up on June 8th for the week. It will be our 13th year in a row staying on the lake.  I hope the walleye are hitting the bobbers by the time that we get there.

Those are some fine specimens. Great job

I'm quite shocked to hear that a walleye tournament is still doing a live weigh in.  Virtually every event these days around here is doing a catch, photo, and release format.   Regardless, nice work.  Congrats.

On the south end...   A great week of fishing with walleyes and saugers caught in good numbers.   The go-to presentation, again, was a jig and frozen emerald shiner.  Emerald shiners are a staple in LOW and walleyes love them.  Other minnows worked also, but emerald shiners are a favorite of anglers for good reason.   The Lighthouse Gap area, Morris Point Gap and just in front of Pine Island held nice fish in 17 - 21' of water.  Various schools of walleyes and saugers across the south shore.     A quarter ounce jig in gold, glow white, pink, orange, chartreuse, or a combo of these colors tipped with a minnow worked well again.   Some big pike and jumbo perch being caught by walleye anglers. On the Rainy River...  Some nice walleyes were caught on the river this weekend, although most anglers normally head to the lake.  12 - 15' of water is holding some nice fish.   Sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River is closed until the keep season starts up again July 1st. Up at the NW Angle...  Some nice walleyes being caught along with a mixed bag.  12 - 25 feet of water.  Points, neck down areas and bays with warming water were holding good fish this week.    The go-to presentation was a jig and minnow as on the south shore.  A mixed bag as is common around the Angle.

Nice work!   Here's two words you hardly ever hear anyone say anymore.  "grateful and humbled"
    • Brianf.
RLG, thanks for the shout-out!     Jeff and I are still trying to wrap our heads around what happened this past weekend.  We are humbled and full of gratitude  for having won 'The Classic' for a second time.     We practiced through all the rain on Thurs and the wind on Friday and found six different spots holding big fish.  Fishing was good on both days with several 'overs' in our catch...but would it hold up for another day?   We didn't know.     On tourney day, we made a long run to our first spot where I lucked out on a 26.5"er on my second cast.  Jeff followed up with a thick 27" er a few minutes later, which turned out to be the big fish for the event at 7.26lbs.  We finished out our limit and weighed-in at 10:30 am for the welfare of the fish in our livewell.    There were some big weights in this event which would have won in most other years, but - for whatever reason - this was our day.  Everything just went our way.  Again, we are just super grateful and humbled by this success.  We also want to congratulate all the other anglers who did well and give a big 'thank you' to the tournament organizers who put on such a great event!
