I had a much better outing on lake two. Found some decent crappies. Anyone else have improved fishing this week?

I will be out tomorrow. Hopefully I can find some walleyes or Crappies of my own. I havn't been out in the couple of weeks. So I am excited!

How's the early morning crappie bite? I usually only get out for afternoons and into the night bite, but this weekend I can only go out if I do early mornings.

Crappies will bite all day long depending on where you locate and how early you get out. The deeper holes tend to put out fish all day long. Good luck!

i was out two weeks ago and we setup to the east of simmons point out from willow point we got out there about noon and stayed till dark and we hit alot of small sunnies and crappies all day. nothing of any size. saw a couple of nice pike on the camera. we were in a bout 11 fow. i sure would like to find a nice hole with some decent crappies though

What depth has the best crappie fishing been? I tried 17' on lake 3 yesterday. I was on a spot that looked real good. Caught many perch in the afternoon. Caught about 10 sunfish right at dark. Then around 6 had some bigger lines on my flasher which I was sure were crappies but no luck. I was fishing with a pink and white Ratso with euros. And a crappie minnow with a glow jig? No takers.

DRH1175, Sounds like you had a good spot. The crappies in the shallower water seem to come through later in the evening an hour or two after dark. I have had some luck getting them to hit glow plastics like nuggies and wedgies or small spoons with minnow heads but also run into those fish that follow and then break off and head back down to the bottom. Makes for a fun cat and mouse game though! Thanks for helping pick up after some of the slobs out on the lake!

There are those signs at the access's The one at lake 3 access was there on Friday night when I left. When I hit the lake yesterday afternoon Someone had ran it over and it was in several pieces. Now that Irks me not only are there too many slobs on the lake. But it is like they take offence to being told to pick up after themselves

Yep, some people have no respect. Most likely some of the highschool kids that feel compelled to drive 50mph across the lake and toss out the fast food wrappers and pop bottles ect. Blake Roberts is one of the lake association members that puts the signs out and helps organize the lake cleanup effort later in the year. Too bad people can't have more respect for the resource.

Had the kids out Saturday on Lake 2 southwest of main group 27 FOW. They caught perch all day and crappies at sundown - 1 13"er ! Green glow fat boys and euros were the ticket. Thanks to all for your helpful info, this a great site. Going to try for a "tip up" northern day on the next outing.

Had a weird night on the lake. All I could get to bite was an endless supply of bluegills at night in 15+ fow. I've not seen this before. Usually there's a steady supply of crappies and perch. Bluegills usually move out at sunset. Anyone else see this strange bite? Those fish keep me guessing.

Yes, The Sunfish started to bite at dark for me in 17 fow. Tons of perch before that and no crappies after dark. All my Sunfish were little chipers.

Mine were mostly little guys too. The hammer handles must be having quite the feast down there. Guess I'll move out deeper and see what surprises wait.

I've never fished this lake even though I live about 5 minutes from it. I was wondering what kinda structure/depth I should look for when targeting bigger sunfish?

I was out on Sunday and there was still over 30 inches of ice. Nothing but perch were biting. The bite is off right now, or I'm not able to figure it out.

On a better note, caught alot of crappies in the deeper holes last night. Not much size except for a monster slab crappie that got away right at the edge of the hole. Maybe 14-16 inches..

Sorry to hear that you lost the big monster crappie. Maybe next time!!! I did not see the fire last night, but coming home today I saw what was left of a fishhouse (base) on 1st lake. Looks like lots of junk to clean up on all 3 lakes.

I just wanted to say thanks again to the 4 guys that helped us load our house on sunday. We had 4 guys trying to get it on the snowmobile trailer and were struggling and the next thing I know there were 8. You saved us a lot of hassle.
