Just curious if you caught the perch and sunfish while you were spearing? I like to bring my kids with and seeing more fish keeps them interested longer. I have my oldest boy(13) hooked on spearing now, he has gotten about a dozen northerns and a whitefish this winter. Thanks!

Thanks Guys, never did get a weight but she was just shy of 40" by my spear. Very thick across the back and deep too. Kind of a nice surprise to finish up for the day!

Thanks Laska, he really enjoys it. I had my 5 year old out on Sunday. We were out for about 2 hours and seen a few little pike. I got a couple of them to raise up with the decoy so he could see them. He might be hooked now as well. How deep were you on Whinnie? I have never speared up there, but it would be fun to see perch and sunnies while you were spearing. Is that typical up there? I have seen quite a few perch on Leech Lake before, but that was before you could angle and spear at the same time.

love the spear

I just picked up a blued Kraemer with a Rosewood handle and brass inlaid tines. They are the nicest spear made IMO. It's almost to pretty to throw.

Hey Spearhead, I got a chance to look at the pics you sent a little closer. I love the hand forged look.I think that is the spear i'm going to go with. Unless... I win a spear at the banquet.
