Thanks Sandmannd, Actually I've been a FM'r for 6 years. Been away for a couple. Got married to a great wife, built my own house now it's time to get serious about fishing again. Fishing Minnesota is great. It kept me up to date on what I was missing out on. Always looked but haven't posted much.

Tomorrow night we find out who our partners are, doubt I'll sleep all night!LOL!!!!

I'll keep you posted but no specifics until after the tournament.

Yeah, all of the fish are going stong. Don't let anyone fool ya about it being a tough bite. I didn't know where the fish were a few days ago but it didn't take long to find em. There should be some impressive numbers put up.

Was down there today and almost got run over by a tournament fisherman. When he did notice me, the look on his face was classic. I will stay off the river next time they come to town.

Never Enough....

Way to go Turk on your 11th place showing. Your consistancy and knowledge of the river paid off once again!

Do you care to share your strategy?

Walleyerak,

My strategy was pretty simple, pound the spots until I thought the area went slow or I couldn't find any bait fish. Then I'd motor to the other spots, I had three that I worked. I know an eight pounder came from one of my spots so I was right about big ones being there, but they (the big ones) were not abundant enough. If this would not have been a home water, I may have stayed on just one spot, but I knew fish were on a few places.

Still this was a once in a lifetime event for the home town tournament scene, I've now moved past the "what if" mode, and not so ticked about not to turning a good fish. I'll just have to be thankfull abouth taking 11th without having an eye over 21". My amatuers were fun and attentive no doubt!

BTW- My buddy Scott Hale got referred to as "The vacuum" by a Pro when he arrived on a spot, what a compliment! The guy says outloud when he showed up "here comes the vacuum!"

Keep Catchin'

The fish were loving those rainy, dreary days before the tourny started.
