We just moved to Shakopee and was wondering if there are any good lakes arround to fish. I know there is prior but I was lloking for more. Thanks for any help.

There is Waconia,Steiger,Parley,Rileyand Lotus to the north.All those lakes are decent,you just gotta go fish them.Put some time in and you'll learn them.

There are a few good lakes along with the River. You just have to try them out.

There is a great bait shop right in downtown. Can't remember the name right off.

THERE IS PRIOR, O'DAWD, THOLE & SPRING WITH IN 5 MILES OF YOU, A LITTLE FARTHER SOUTH FISH & CEDAR. I USED TO LIVE IN SHAKOPEE. CEDAR & SPRING WERE MY FAVORITE NICE SUNFISH & CRAPPIES IN BOTH. LOOK ON THE DNR WEBSITE FOR THE MAPS.

Has anyone fished O'dowd or Thole?

I've found that the crappies are hard to find, and few and far between....however one of my biggest crappies I have ever caught came off the pier there.
For walleyes try near the island straight across the lake from the pier in about 12 ft of water. I've had the best luck from evening to dark.
