I agree, but their offense is doing a good enough job to win where on the other hand the defense is not holding up their end of the job. You can't expect much more than 300+yds and 3 TD's from a QB. The defense has to step up too, but they've got a lot of injuries now and that doesn't help either. It still comes down to keeping the other team off the scoreboard when the offense is putting up the points to win. Favre doesn't play on defense, so even if he was still in GB they wouldn't be in any better shape. 84 points allowed in the last three weeks (and losses). yuck.

I have one Packer/NFL question, why isn't the Lambeau leap a penalty for excessive celebration? I have seen plenty of flags for less.

I think Rodgers will be fine and I agree with Lmitout, the defense is the problem right now. With injuries to Cullen Jenkins, Al Harris, Atari Bigby, Hawk not at 100%, then Kabeer isn't the same player he was in years past since his surgery and that's the difference from last season.

You don't think losing Favre has anything to do with it? The coaches were there last season, he is the missing link

I was kidding about the coaching you can't blame them for losing 3 straight or the same amount they lost all of last season...

Yes I do think losing Favre has effected them more then just at the QB position.

wheres badger? hes been really quite since the packers loosing streak

I'm still here Walleyes12 smile I've posted every week...The offense looks fine, but the defense is way too banged up. Any team would struggle without their starting corner, safety and defensive end out...plus other nagging injuries as well to other starters. Last year when they went 13-3 they were very healthy...just the way it goes in the NFL! Those guys are good players and are sorely missed. Looks like the Bears are the team to beat! Good luck tonight...

I dont miss Al Harris,I think he's a dirty, cheap player.

A little sour grapes from that clean hit last year on Peterson?

Wierd.... So when a healthy Packers defense gave up 400 yards and 24 first downs to the Giants in the NFC Title game last year was that coaching or the injuries?.... smile

Lets not kid ourselves here they have lost 4 of their last 6 games with wins over the Lions the worst team in football and close win at home versus a poor Viking team. When does the coach heed some of the blame?

Discus!

Now that's a low blow smile.....The injuries aren't an excuse, simply a fact. They obviously don't have enough depth. The Colts were really banged up, but managed to beat the Vikings. Probably just better coaching with Dungy grin I think you've got plenty to worry about with the purple...that's a busy bandwagon. I think I saw some threads on who should be the new coach and what player will be drafted next year.

With all the jumping on and jumping off, there should be a good path to follow. whistle

It may be but I won't speak for him. I have not heard many Vikings fans complain about it being dirty but some have. It was legal but dangerous. Part of the game regardless of opinion. Not much different than that hit Sapp put on Clifton a couple of years back that the Pack fans took issue with. 100% legal but maybe a little dangerous. As always it is about what color kool-aid your drinking. Green makes you see things different than the folks drinking the purple stuff, and vice versa.

Those two hits are like night and day. Harris made a clean tackle on the ball carrier, Sapp made a blind sided hit on the opposite side of the field from the guy with the ball. By todays rules, Sapp would've been fined and suspended. Because your star player got hurt on the play, you're looking for someone to blame when there isn't anyone. Geez, it was a normal tackle you see every Sunday, get real!!!

What are you talking about PierBridge?? crazy When did I mention anything about injuries in the NFC Championship game last year?? Lets not kid ourselves....the Packers were 13-3 last year and lost the Championship game in OT...Oh ya...the Giants ended up winning the SB. It was a great year and McCarthy is doing a very good job. The Pack doesn't have to worry about a coaching change....how about the Purple???

Let me put this lightly. Please sit down for this one. THE PACKERS, THE VIKINGS, THE BEARS and especially THE LIONS ALL STINK!!!!! GET OVER IT, I HAVE!!! Gazing into my crystal ball, the NFC North winner will be no better than .500, and will lose HANDILY in the first round of the playoffs. If it weren't for the NFC East, the NFC would have NO PRAYER in the Super Bowl. The West is just as bad as the North. I picked the Vikes to win the division, but I am not sure now, I hope they do, but if they don't- BYE BYE CHILLY!!!

I agree completely. The best part about that statement, is that I will not spend one Sunday on the couch. Should I watch football or go hunting? Now a no-brainer.

Snooze,

Relax, I don't think I said I had a issue with the hit Harris put on Peterson. I was actually only pointing out how things can be different from a different perspective. Than again, that would be rational thinking and I should realize rational thinking isn't always the type of thought used by football fans.

All I was saying is a legal hit is a legal hit regardless of what we think of it. Sapp's was legal also but the Pack fans didn't like it because it was your guy. It was within the rules. So what you are saying is all hits within the rules are good hits unless they seem to be less than neccessary and they hurt one of your guys. Sapp's hit was a normal block you see on many returns. I saw one tonight on Bush's first punt return. They replayed it about 6 times on the telecast. He didn't have a chance to catch Bush but got hit anyway. Great hit, legal hit and fun to watch. Just fortunate the guy walked away from the play.

Where are the Meat Packers? 2-3

Where are the VIKINGS ? 2-3

I thought the Pack would be 5-0 at this time ??

Oh well...looks like they stink too !

Like I said, the Pack, Vikings, and Bears all suck this year.

The division is a battle on who will suck the least...just to make the playoffs and lose first round.

I think the Vikes would have the best overall team, but lack a passing game...which is HUGE. We need a QB and people who can catch the ball.

I agreee fully.

But the Vikes SHOULD beat Detroit (they better) and then could they be playing the bears for first place????

Put a fork in GB, they are done....

Sheesh, the Vikings win one game and all of a sudden they're battling the Bears for 1st place. One more win and they'll be going to the super bowl. Last week they sucked and all the talk was about picking number 1 in the draft.

They still do suck.

But, so do the lions, bears, and the pack.

That gives us a chance to win the division with only one more win (two total).

Most Pack fans were talking SB or having over 10 wins for the season when they were 2-0. Now, they are quiet....

But, the Vikes are very capable of losing to Detroit....

This is how it is in Vikingland!

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?
    • LakeofthewoodsMN
On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
