WILD BLUEBERRIES???

Sooo, how far are we from Wild Blueberry season, and when do they usually ripen in what aeas??? confused

How far South has anyone found them??? smile

We've been picking blueberries now for about 10 days. I'm going up tommorow to pick again. I'm shooting for 2 gallons. I'll let you know how it goes. I would say right now is the prime. I am picking in Carlton near CLoquet. I don't think they go much further south then that. I'd say hincley / sandstone area is the most southern areas, but i could be wrong. I also know they are going really good in the bwca right now. I'll get some pics up on wednesday and let you know how it went.

From my childhood memories, they must be about two to three weeks late this year, eh? If memory serves me correctly, we usually found them at prime from Independence Day to mid-July.

Got a nice bucket full yesterday on the Echo trail out of Ely:) alot of unripe ones yet though.

The picking has been pretty good.. already made up some jam.. kids already ate two jars of it... lots of berries this year and yes the season was a few weeks later.

The blueberries picking was a success. We found blueberries to be mostly ripe and ready to be picked. It seems to be peaking right now in our area which is the carlton, cloquet area.

Anyone know about raspberries? I was at cabin (duluth area) 3 weeks ago and it there were none to be found. The bushes were flowering but no berries.
