Transducer issue

Recommended Posts

I have a Vexilar FL8 with the transducer mounted on my bow mount trolling motor. I noticed that the extra slack in the cord caused it to rub against the prop of the trolling motor causing it to fray slightly. Some of the protective casing was rubbed threw and a couple of wires nicked. My question is can this be fixed and is it worth it, or should I trash the transducer and spend the $60-$80 bucks for a new one? Any help would be great Thanx.

minor transducer problems can equal major fish finding problems soon down the road. Replace it! or at least have a back up!

I have had luck in the past repairing an old Eagle Silent 60 ducer wire, but I think I would just replace it.

I just installed a trolling motor ducer on my Minnkota. I am not sure if it will help you, but this is what I did:

Drilled a hole and a zip tie. I double zip tied it right above adjuster collar and leave enough cord loose, but there is no way it will go into the prop. We will see though.

Good luck!
