Bald Eagle or Big Carniellan?

For spring crappies and sunnies? If a guy was planning on going to one of them, which one would be more productive for crappies?

If you want to catch alot baldeagle is good ,but the size is not there and you need to know where to go or you wont catch a thing but bass or northerns.

There isn't a whole lot of public access for shore fishing on Bald Eagle. I live there and haven't seen anyone yet on the one stretch along West Bald Eagle Avenue.

Tom, just wondering about the ice condition on Bald Eagle. Is the lake ice free yet as of today? I am hoping to take my boat out fishing there if it is open.

Big Car is way better for size 12-14" fish and once you find them the numbers are there.

Bald Eagle is good to take the kids out for numbers. Just swing by Bald Eagle Bait and they'll point you in the right direction. Good Luck.

Sorry for the late reply. Bald Eagle was ice out on Tuesday. You're good to go. Also, the parking is restricted on most of the areas open for shore fishing. Bring a wagon or something if you're taking the kids and a lot of gear. Little Bear Bait at North 96 and 61 can point you in the right direction.

The numbers are there, but I've noticed a huge drop in crappie size on the Big C. I fished it quite a bit during the hard water season 8-10 years ago and 12"-14" inchers were common, but I haven't seen one in awhile. The average size crappie compared to Bald Eagle is still better.(IMHO)
