Sturgeon Fishing 4/19/08

I'm thinking of taking my Dad up for the day tomorrow for some sturgeon fishing and I'm just curious where you guys would recommend going. Do you have better luck by the lake or more towards Frontier and Birchdale? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

we did well east of frontier landing today .the biggest being 59 incher we caught 14 total

so the lady that was working at the landings the last couple weekends said that sturgy fishing is just gonna get better and better as it warms up. she said that right now they're pretty lethargic and the bite would just get hotter and they fight alot more- is there much truth to that? And by the way i read it, it looks like the season only closes for about a week in a year? it looks to me like theres only a week in the year when you cant legally even C&R?

wait i read that wrong, may 15th through july 1st is the only time you cant even legally target them correct?

Correct. But the harvest season is pretty small in the spring.

They do fight and jump more once the water starts to warm up however the big ones bulldog pretty good right now. I have a sore back and arms to prove it.
