i was wondering what everybody sets their bow poundage at for bowfishing carp. Just got all the stuff to do it and was wondering how far you crank it down.

Thanks

That depends on the arrow and the bow you have. With a compound -Fiber glass no more than 50lbs. Laminated or carbon the sky is the limit. I like the laminated ones myself, I shoot a 55lb recurve though so I can get away with watever arrows I want.

General rule is to shoot whatever you feel like pulling about 100 times in a day.

I shoot a 45 pound recurve as well - easy enough you can snap shoot a bunch, enough to get an arrow in most big carp

Although shooting on Lake Michigan a few years ago I bounced arrows off an awful lot of monsters (like 40+ pound monsters...)
