Bluffs Launch

Was down there on Tuesday and it was closed off. Anyone have any idea when the area opens for boats down there?

I'd say the Bluffs is one of the better all around launches I've ever used... Beautiful park, plenty of parking, ample docks, 3 or 4 wide, protected from river wind and waves. Wish there was more like it.

I used to go there A LOT when I worked for a subsidiary of Control Data when it was CDC's....

How nice it was - hardly no one was there, it was essentially free.

I thought I recall hearing that it had been a corporate pc of property at one time.

It's still rarely very busy, for some reason... Sort of off the beaten path I suppose.

The times I used it a lot was 17-20 years ago.

Love that launch. I think it's the nicest launch I've every used. I don't like the big drop when you hit the water, but I love how all the slips are setup. You can launch three at a time and there is a ton of parking. Just get there at 3 AM for opener if you want a spot when the gates open at 6.

Whoa - a 3 hour wait?

The thing about that place is making that sharp turn with the boat on the way out or in when someone else is coming the other way...

I have never had to turn around yet, but some dyas it gets very very full. can't launch there if all trailer parking spots are full. I loved it before it was a county park, had many volleyball games, grilling parties, and some good camping. now it seems kind of busy some days. It is nice to have open to public use though.
