Any suckers running yet? i know its a little early but maybe?

they might be advancing in the rivers a little bit but c'mon man, the back waters to all of the minor tributaries and streams are all still locked up tight.

I think we will be lucky to see ice out before the first of may.

Like my grampa always said;"when the buds on a popple are the size of a squirrel's ear's...it is time to spear suckers". As far as fishing them goes...in about a week I am guessing.

Went out to the Mississippi today and managed to catch 2 redhorse and 3 suckers between two of us in about an hour. Anyone else been out?

may i ask where u went by any chance? i havent been out but i am trying to figure something to do this weekend. you dont have to say the exact spot.

We were downstream of the Blandin Dam. Also tried the praire river yesterday but didnt catch anything.

how far down? i know by the library there is a little too much current there, atleast too much for me.
