Value of small outboards?

fishingguy

Question

I have 2 small outboards I'm wondering what they're worth. 1st, 60's evinrude 3hp duck twin. 2nd, a 70's johnson 4hp weedless. both in good, used shape. I got them both several years ago on a garage sale. Anyone have any idea? Thoughts?

Not really thinking of selling at this time, just re-evaluating our home owners insurance and want to make sure everything is covered.

A couple buddies told me that the evinrude duck twin may be worth some money. Any truth to that?

The Duck Twin isn't that common. If its in very good condition you might find someone collecting that type of stuff willing to pay more then its worth. I's say a couple hundred a piece tops.

The DuckTwin isn't really worth more than $200-500, depending on condition. Not too bad for an early 70s, small outboard though. grin.gif

I've been hunting and snooping around for a DuckTwin for a little over a year. Haven't pulled the trigger on one yet but they frequently come up for auction on E-bay and my price range above is what I've typically seen them sell for.

I have not used the ducktwin in a couple years now. Basicly a back up to the 4hp. I didn't know that it is a possible collector item. Thanks for the tip. May have to re-evaluate my insurance, or even consider selling. Thanks for the info!!
