The rainy river report

Some of the guys here in International Falls this weekend, had good luck on walleye's others did not fair so well.Friday seemed to be the better day .I had a report of a 29 incher.As far as the walleye's go it seems good one day bad the next.Can always get some nice eaters at the mill.

The sturgeon are starting to run. I talk with several differant guys and they all said they got sturgeon,the biggest I heard was a 57 inch fish.

The fishing is only gonna get better

Both the little and bigfork rivers are open now, the rainy river is a bit dirty now and the river is open all the way to LOTW.I was on 4 mile bay yesterday, the sturgeon where a little slow we got 5 with the biggest a 49 incher, there was some boat traffic,we seen other boats catching fish also.I talk with a guy yesterday who has been fishing just down from the littlefork,he said he had been doing pretty well the last few days.

The next couple of weeks should be fantastic,if your sitting around waiting for the walleye opener,you are missing some of the best fishing of the year for huge fish that put up a great battle.
