How much snow this weekend and how is the ice?

Recommended Posts

Anybody still out on the ice? I was hoping to be open water fishing next week but it don't look good! Curious on the snowfall and if the lakes are losing ice fast.

Thanks,

As of Saturday there was still pretty good ice most of the area. 20 plus inches one you got on the lake. North side accesses are pretty shot and there are soft spots or places out on the lake that you have to be cautious of. Most began driving ATV's only this past weekend. Not sure what this heavy snow did to the ice. I'm sure it made it sink a little as we had anywhere from 2 - 8 inches depending on location in the Brainerd Lakes Area.

Fishing was good Saturday afternoon. My five year old & I took home (15) 12 - 13" crappies caught suspended over 40 ft.

bummer! we have 10-12 " in breezy point. There was over 2' of ice on pelican last week. Was warm fri and sat. You get more snow further north you go. Hurry up spring!

Hopefully the new snow and a wet spring will bring the water levels up!

It should help bring the water level up but will delay the ice out.. Sounds like possibly more snow on Friday... We do need the moisture...

At least one more good week of pan fishing on the ice...

Think spring and open water!!!!
