Most places should be making the 07 chips down now with the 08's out. I would try Reeds website or calling them up and seeing what they will give it to you for.

Capras, Joes, Reeds, Marine General. All these guys were dealing at the show.

Also check eBay & Graig's list for new & used.

I always found it interesting that you can get a better price from another dealer at the show then you can directly through Lakemaster.

Lowrance actually makes the chips using Lakemaster data, but one would still think they would have the better price.

Guess it's free enterprise in action.

Is the 2008 one out yet and what is the difference between that one and the 2007 one???

The 2008 is out, but I don't know the difference. I think more HD lakes or something like that. I'm sure someone will chime in.

The 2008 chip is out at the bigger stores or through lakemaster website. There is 80 upgraded lakes from last year. The 2008 chip also includes Boundary Waters campsites and portages.

Joe's has them for $50.I found out after I bought mine at Cabela's and they price matched me.I bought the 2007 because in 2008 they took off the wisconsin lakes that were on there.

Does anyone know if we can turn in our 2007 chip and get a 2008 for $50 like they did with the 2006?

LM (really it's lowrance) does not have a trade-in program for those chips. Navionics does have a trade-in program.

But on the other hand you could get 50 bucks for your old chip. Just list on here or craig's list.

I went one last time yesterday afternoon with a friend for a few hours.  We each got one, and we each missed one.  Raised about 20 birds at four spots, plus one deer.  Unfortunately, the season is now over.   It was a superb season though.  Second best season I've had with this dog.  She just had her 13th season.  I hope she can do it again next year.   I'll be sorting my sock drawer now for a couple months...

He can have this one!  Haha!  We shoulda maybe stayed on top in 14 but we could see the bottom so clearly and it was shallower than we really wanted.  The quick deeper water check yielded perch and pike right away, so we moved.  Caught plenty before dark, now pretty quiet.   I have a hunch the bay WILL fish shallower than the main lake we’re used to.   16 inches of good ice out here.

Thanks for reminding me to make sure that one is in the fish house!  It’s tradition that we watch that on the first trip every year.

We (my wife mainly) are monitoring the pages of the big three pretty closely.  Not Mille Lacs though - we don’t go to the big one closest to us - haha.   We’re still shooting for Winnie tomorrow but might have to shift to Red if we can’t get out there yet.  Spent all day going through gear.  Bought a ton of bait.  Sharpened my spears and saw.  Way too much gear.   I also found out I forgot 1 ciscoe in my long rod box from my Ontario trip in March. Gaaggggghhh.  Everything out, washed with Dawn in hot water and set out to dry.  Still stinks but not like a punch in the nose stink.  And like me, after a long weekend fishing, after awhile I hardly notice the smell anyway.
