I have heard there are some slab crappies in this lake and i was wonderin if this is correct? I have fished it a few times with minimal results for crappies but did pretty decent on eyes. I have caught alot of fish in the 12" range but can't seem to get over 13" and i really want to try to get there before ice out. Do you think this is a lake to try or is there a better lake in the area. Thanks and keep your lines tight.

I was out with my old man one weekend, and we found some eyes, which i never fish for them unless im with him, and man it was great time to caught them when there nice and plump

Thanks guys I appreciate it. Could you give me more details about this lake all I have seen is the small bay that I live by which like I said is on the very south end. What typs of fish are in it? How deep is it? How far from where I live are the spots?

I don't know much about the lake but try the Dnr lakefinder on their website, that should help.

Ok. I am planning on maybe getting out tomorrow or this weekend. From where I am at should I just get on the lake and drive north? Look for the clumps of vehicles? I am looking to catch some nice crappies or sunfish any hints or tips for spots you guys can give me? Depths to fish?

I do have a lakemaster chip the newest one for my lowrance icepack that I think should show my the lake if I remember right. I am just tired of going out and not catching anything you guys know what I mean? I moved on a lake because I love fishing just hate going out, getting setup, and not catching a [PoorWordUsage] thing. Plus I am still trying to get used to using the vexilar like setting on my lowrance 522-igps. Hope to get it down soon but would like to catch some nice fish before the end of the ice. Thanks again everyone for your help each post is very helpful and appreciated.

I think electric items have their places, I just don't think large commercial jobs are going to be able to work well with them. Can't see a logging crew out in the woods all day changing batteries!

I agree on the choices.   I didn't mean to say that a battery auger was better or greener or whatever.  I could care less about that.   It just seems that "most" ice anglers have made a switch to a battery auger in recent years.  That's all I was saying.  I know about a dozen people who regularly ice fish and they all have battery augers now.  I bet if you conducted a survey of all ice anglers, the majority would answer that they use a battery powered auger.

Best weed eater I've ever run with great longevity is Echo, I'd check them out

Hey government,  Just give us choices. I don’t care what people use as long as as it works for you. I’m needing a new weed eater. Plan on a Stihl FS 40 easy start. I’m done with the cheaper brands. Just don’t last long enough.  Probably true with the Stormy Daniels of the world as well. Cheaper don’t last long enough 🤭

If you turn on a movie they survive the 20min ride just fine. After many controlled experiments, I've found that they survive much better if you show "Finding Nemo" instead of "Jaws."

Quick update: Lucky 7 now has rainbows, fatheads, crappie and light pike in stock. If I remember correctly, scoop of rainbows was $8.99.  Stopped at L&M in Virginia. Rainbows $6.99, fatheads and crappie minnows (scoop) $3.99. I was billed $6.99 dozen for rainbows, but was given a healthy scoop!
