The road to the Super Bowl goes through Green Bay!

Hard to watch...are you crazy?

With the weather, nothing is a "gimmee".

You could be on the 5 yard line ready to score...only to fumble the ball that is hard as a rock.

The long snapper screwed up more than the kicker. But, it shouldn't have went to OT.

The Pack had the change to win, but Favre choked. Well, not really...he had to try something with no running game and a strong D in his face.

I dont like the packers, I dont like Favre, I hate the Giants, and eli! I was rooting for the packers. I think the only reason the packers lost the game last night was because of Favre, he is way to careless, he has been his whole career. He just has been lucky. Not that that is all bad, no guts no glory! I just think the packers should move on to their next generation of qb. It will be better for them down the road. Favre had a good career, he just needs to except that and walk away.

Thats right, "LUCKY" !

How many times does he just air one up, and it ends up bouncing off the hands of their opponent, and a packer reciever catches it. How many int were dropped that should have been caught. I didnt say he wasnt good, he just isnt the best, and if your not a true packers fan, it gets real old having to hear the media talk about how he is the best and defend him when he screws up.

Every once in a while it’s kind of fun to see the “Greatest” Quarterback of the “Greatest” franchise that plays in the “Greatest” stadium located in the “Greatest” city, with the “Greatest” fans …..take a tumble.

No different then seeing a Pro fisherman getting a monster rats nest of a backlash. You just gotta chuckle. \:\)

They are guys out getting overpaid to have fun.

Don’t take it so seriously.

Is somebody a little sore after the OT loss? Do you need a hug? \:\)

I was cheering for the Pack yesterday, even though I am a Vikes fan.

There were plenty of jabs taken throughout the season on both sides. We just got to take the last one because our team didn't make it this far.

That was a great game to watch IMO. I said once the Giants were about to get the ball back on the last punt of the 4th, watch, the Lambeau luck will rear its head... fumble! The cheeseheads got greedy and the Gmen got it back- unreal!! I found myself cheering for the Giants although at the beginning of the game I said I didn't care, but that is because I didn't think they would have much of a chance. Good season Pack, I am just glad you didn't get to the superbowl and pull off the upset of a lifetime.... us Vikings fans would never have another comeback ever!!

The only reason I wanted the Packers to win the game was so they could be beat badly in the Super Bowl by the Patriots. I'm happy to see Packers fans season end in disbelief, after they all thought it was their year to win it, haha Brett "INT" Favre throws the pick to seal it for the Giants in OT. Priceless!!!

Now let's go Patriots!!!

Farve played awful yesterday. If it wasn't for the blown coverage and poor angle taken, that 90 yard score should have never happened. I just overheard that he is 3 and 6 in his last 9 playoff games. Not good.

That might be. But he was definately the one responsible for building it back up after a decade plus of NO "mystique". Earlier in his career, the other team LOST almost every time it was below 30 degrees.

I've said it many times on here and gotten trashed for it but it has happened again. Favre once again had how many chances to take his team up on his shoulders and carry them to a superbowl and instead of doing so he becomes a playoff goat. Although i think Al Harris's sad display of coverage was a big factor in the overall loss, Favre still had his chance and didnt do it. You can add this lack of heroism to the list of playoff losses. Now that being said the pack isnt even close to being in this game without Favre.

You're right. Just like the Pats wouldn't have had a chance without Brady carrying them on his back in the Chargers game. grin.gif

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
