hunted last weekend out in western minnesota. this weekend i plan on hunting area 157. i'm interested in buying an intensive harvest permit. do i need to purchase a permit in that area? or can i just go over to gander mountain in eden prairie and buy one there?

You should be able to buy an intensive harvest bonus antlerless tag for any eligible unit at any ELS outlet in the state.

from hopkins actually... not too far from eden prairie though.

anyways, after looking over the regs again it looks like i don't need to purchase an intensive harvest permit. currently i've got the all season license. i have yet to shoot a deer. so shouldn't i be able to shoot a doe without buying an intensive harvest permit?

i do believe that you can shoot a buck and two does with that license in an intensive harvest area or 3 does and then if you would need more tags you can buy more at any place that sells the tags

This changed from last year. Now, all-season license holders can take the same number of deer as other deer hunters. In lottery areas, that means one deer. In managed areas, it's two. In intensive harvest areas it is five. Only one can be a buck.
