Thanks for the update Cliff. It certainly sounds like it is turning over right now. Silver Scale how much longer before you think the bite may improve for the big toothy fellas? If I remember right you had great success a couple of falls ago.

47.8 degrees in Pike Bay this morning. 51.8 degrees in Big Bay. 54 degrees there this afternoon.

We still caught 38 walleyes today in 24' to 31' of water.

I am not sure that the turn-over happened yet.??

The bite was slow and light but we did ok.

The walleyes have shifted their locations from where I found them a few days ago!

Cliff, when jigging w/minnows deep do use mono or braid?

I use 8# to 10# braided line all of the time. Power Pro or Fire Line.

Huh. I get made fun of for fishing walleyes with fireline....until they wanna compare livewells. Good to see others use it too.

What can I say...I love the stuff. When the time comes I hope they lower my casket into the ground with fireline!!

We will be up for the last time this open water season this Friday through Monday. I have had a really tough go of it this year on the Big V chasing muskies and I am hoping to stick one this weekend, or I might be tempted to have a fire sale on my equipment! We have a place on the lake and I fished hard for about 3 weeks total this year and have yet to get one in the net!

I am not a great muskie angler by any means but I haven't even been able to raise a fish. This whole season has been a tough one for me. It isn't from a lack of trying.

Maybe I just lost my mojo and you will have some luck

I was up there saturday and sunday for muskies on the east end and it was pretty slow. Had a nice one hooked up right at the side of the boat but didnt get a real good hook set and it was gone.Other than that, had a few more hits and follows but nothing in the boat. Saw most of the fish using big jerk baits and gliders. White seemed to the color of choice too. Oh, and surface temps ranged from 49 to 50 degrees almost everywhere we went. Good Luck

Thanks for the report and the water temperature. Did you move your fish shallow or on the deep breaks and did you see any cisco spawning activity?

The fish we saw were still relating to shallow rocks and points. I kept checking the edges of the reefs too to see if I could pick up any baitfish on the sonar and wasnt seeing much. Get the water temps down a few more degrees and I think it will change everything. Good Luck

Same deal for me on chasing muskies. I was up there 2 weekends ago we got there the day the lake turned over. Spent the next 3 days trolling rocks, rock points, casting weeds, casting reefs, trolling deep where we marked schools of bait fish..... Nothing to show for it.

The walleye bite slowed down in many of the areas that were producing well on Monday!

Had one muskie hit a walleye in 26' of water today.
