For sale is a 24x24 2 bedroom 3 season Ex-resort cabin to be moved. 1/2 the shingles are new as of last fall and the other half within the last 3-4 years. Its a very solid building, no major defects just needs some minor cosmetics to be 100%. A similar "new" 4 season cabin in the menards flyer was about $28k in materials + foundation +Labor. This would make a great hunting cabin. Its currently sitting on blocks and will be a very easy move, storage can be arranged once payment is recieved. It will need some minor work such as ceiling tiles, possibly carpet and probably a bathroom remodel but again structuraly it is a very solid building.Even comes complete with the original resort funiture, beds, dishes, fridge, propane range, etc.

The building is located about 7 miles west of Walker, MN (Zip 56484)Be prepared for moving costs to be from $3000-$7500 and up depending on distance to move. Basically this isn't for everyone, but if you have the time, money and inclination this is a great buy. Seriouse inquires only please.

http://eckerhousemoving.com/Area.htm <-- These guys are supposed to be pretty good and are local (I moved it myself with a 20k trailer so if you have the equipment it is a possibility)

The back history on this is that I bought it, moved it myself and had big plans for it, now I have a job in Indiana. I had this sold this spring but the buyer never came through with the money so its for sale again. Like I said before, seriouse inquires only please, it'll be a great buy for someone but there are moving costs and some work involved so keep that in mind. The building can be stored for a predetermined period of time once payment is made. I can be reached at (218)760-2572 to answer any questions or give dirrections for viewing.

If anyone wants to view it or has any specific questions about it give my cell a call at (218) 760-2572

I'm going to be heading back to Indiana today but can make arrangements with my Dad if someone wants to view it. Its about 7 miles west of Walker, anything beyond that just give me a call and I can give specific dirrections and set them up with my Dad to look at it. I won't be around a computer for a few days so my cell is the best way to get ahold of me.

I can get some more pictures of it is someone wants to see anything specific, otherwise those pics are just meant to give someone an idea of what it is, best bet is to come and see it in person.

John,

I bought your trailer. We had it placed two weeks ago and the wife couldn't be happier. We are still in the process of getting the water hooked up but if it is like the electricity it shouldn't be a problem.

Moving it was a little more than I had expected but well worth it.

Guy's,

I looked at the cabin prior to purchasing the trailer, this would make a GREAT lake cabin or hunting shack, it is very sound.

Thanks Mike, glad to hear it worked out for you and that its going to get used, hope you can sit back and enjoy it now that the hard parts are done.

I would love to buy this fro you, but for me to move it where i would need it, it would cost me way to much, unless you know of a cheep mover?

Posted

Thats why I moved it myself, to get someone to do it you have to pay to play, how far do you need to go with it?

Posted

Trades for a clean honda rancher or anything interesing considered.

Posted

I would need to go east across the border about 50 miles, for a total of about 190 miles. In an estimate I got from a mover it totals to way to much.

If you came up with a cheap way to haul this, I would take it off your hands! But with the cost of gas now, I am sure hauling isnt any cheaper today then it was last year for me!

You could cut in in half and move it in Pieces.....

....and what songs were blasting through those headphones when the laker hit? That might be the key.   For me, I can always get the fish bite to turn on if I dial up the polka!

Does anyone know if the Pike River is starting to flow over the dam?

Just be careful if someone tells you to drop your pants and cough.

On the South Shore...  There is still some ice fishing taking place in a few areas of the lake along the south shore but most resorts and outfitters have pulled their fish houses and called it a good year.  Make sure to call ahead to the resort or outfitter for current conditions if you plan on getting on the ice.  Safety first always.   For those still fishing, some are still targeting walleyes.  There continues to be a good morning / evening bite along the south shore just prior to sunset.  Quality fish are being caught in a number of areas.     Most still ice fishing are targeting trophy pike.  It was another great week with some big fish caught.  Another week of big fish tipping that 40 inch mark with big girths.  Suckers, frozen alewife and smelt set about a foot under the ice or just off of the bottom have proven effective.   On the Rainy River...  Spring open water fishing has begun!  The Rainy River is open in many areas and as of Monday, March 31st, there are two boat ramps open.  The Nelson Park boat ramp in Birchdale and the Frontier Access (about 8 miles to the west of Nelson Park) are both clear of ice.  Boats are running the river and the ice pack is deteriorating by the day.   Initial reports for walleyes are very good with some big fish being caught.  Most are jigging with either plastics or minnows.  Use bright plastics such as chartreuse, orange, pink and white.  for minnows, emerald shiners, fatheads and rainbows have all been productive.     Trolling crankbaits against the current is also effective and will catch fish.  This is also a good technique to cover water if you are not on fish. Rainy River walleye fishing is catch and release from March 1st through April 14th on Four Mile Bay and the Rainy River.  Initial reports for sturgeon are also good.  Anchored up in a hole or on the slope of a hole with a no roll sinker and sturgeon rig is the ticket.  Lots of walleye anglers reporting sturgeon hookups as well.  Here are the seasons for sturgeon fishing...   -Catch and Release Season: May 8th – May 15th and October 1 – April 23rd. -Harvest Season: April 24th – May 7th and July 1 – September 30. -Closed Season: May 16th – June 30th. Up at the Northwest Angle...  It has been a great ice fishing year up at the Angle.  While there are a few locals still getting out, resorts have pulled off their fish houses and called it a year.     Plan for the MN Fishing Opener which is Saturday, May 10, 2025! The walleye and sauger season is open through April 14th. Pike fishing never closes, and perch and crappie remain open year-round as well.  You can fish for sturgeon through May 15th.
