The opener has come and gone for another year. The weather was dandy for this opener wind and cold, I am still shivering from sunday on the lake, Then we had the rest of the week rain, its been very interesting. The fish seem to think so to. Saturday was decent on leech lake, with quite a few fish coming in the morning in the 7-9 ft of water with a gumball and shiner. then in the afternoon it got tough for us the fish just seem to disappear. The pattern on leech seems to to be the same for the rest of the week the water cooled down and so did the fishing.
Winnie had a glimmer of hope for the weekend with a few reports of fish being caught in their usual haunts. The river channel, tamarack, plughat, ravens and mallard all had some fish coming in on Saturday and then like the other lakes in the area fishing got a bit tough when the water cooled. Jig and shiner was the key for winnie in the 7-9 ft of water.
hopefully his week will bring alittle better weather and pick up the fishing abit we will see
good luck fishing
