Big Pine Lake - Jigging for Walleyes

2 posts in this topic

So some of the guys at the resort last weekend caught a total of about 50 walleye - would you believe the guy was jigging for them? I've never tried jigging for walleye in the summer (although lots of success in the winter). Must have done something right with crank bait though, managed to pull in 6 between Saturday and Sunday which is far more than I usually get.

Looks like I will have to try some jigging this weekend. Thanks for the information, and I agree crank biats in that area work well.

Thanks.  We sadly have caught bigger but didn't get them on video.  Average size this trip was around that 18.5-19" mark.  We got really excited because a few of them were 21" and the state record is only 20.5 or 20.75" but the state record had a girth of 6+ inches!  that fish had to be THICK!  Was a ton of fun and I can't wait to get them from the smoker on Friday!
