Shorefishing Minneapolis Chain of Lakes

2 posts in this topic

I know this topic is discussed often, but I'd appreciate some up-to-date input. I am planning a trip for Sunday morning and would appreciate any advice on catching fish from shore on any of the Minneapolis chain of lakes. Bass, Northerns, Walleyes. Anything legal is fine with me. Catch-and-release as usual. Email me at Anvalek @ hotmail . com if you don't want to post specific information. Thanks!

I have read that mercury levels are a reason there is no commercial harvest on vermilion. But it was probably the same thing you read as I have not found a second source of that. There is commercial harvest of rustys on other Minnesota lakes so there must be a reason it's not done here.    For or what it's worth, the DNR has suggestions on how much fish to eat because of mercury.
