Today's cold front and Washington Tomorrow

1 post in this topic

hi all,

since a cold front has/is blowing over s. mn. right now, what would be the best strategy if i wanted to shore fish tonight from either madison or washington... or suggestions? i'm in mankato.

also, i'm hitting washington with a friend tomorrow and neither of us are near the level a lot of you are i'm sure. with the weather as it is, what spots would you suggest, and presentation? i haven't hit the lakes in over 2 years, mainly due to my health, and am really hoping to have a little luck tomorrow.

thanks!

patrick

there is a mess being created out there ladies and gentleman. Be careful. Slush is sneaky. It looks like March out on the ice, not January. Deep slush and standing water, tricky conditions for vehicles and people. Saw a lot of flooded houses today in four mile bay.    Fishing for our group was the same as it's been all season. So Slow It Hurts.   But it sure was fun to be able to fish outside.    On a side note, I picked up nearly a dozen boards left behind from wheelhouses. With all this water and slushy conditions, I agree boards are needed. Just please take them with you or chisel them out. These things can cause a lot of damage to some expensive equipment come open water....

I feel like every time I ice fish in the rain the fish are going nuts...Went out today on a lake in the Duluth area and just pounded the crappies and gills(100+fish)..All the gills were 8-9" and the crappies were 10-12"... Best bait was a glow majum jig with a glow plastic...
