Crappie/sunfish in East Metro?

3 posts in this topic

Could anyone give me a recommendation on where I could go in the east metro for crappie or other panfish? I'd like to bring my daughter out fishing for the first time. We'll be fishing from shore.

Thanks!

You could give the sunrise pools outside of stacy a try. There are oodles of sunnies and bullheads below the dam, plus a bonus pike and bass

Keller lake is great for sunnies. They are small but will keep the kids going. It's right off of 36 and 61.

Thanks.  We sadly have caught bigger but didn't get them on video.  Average size this trip was around that 18.5-19" mark.  We got really excited because a few of them were 21" and the state record is only 20.5 or 20.75" but the state record had a girth of 6+ inches!  that fish had to be THICK!  Was a ton of fun and I can't wait to get them from the smoker on Friday!
